Our Review of the BOB Revolution stroller

Check out a real mom's test drive of the BOB Revolution stroller!

Comfort, versatility and control are at the essence of the BOB Revolution, the reigning champion of swivel wheel strollers.  The Revolution jogging / walking stroller features a front swivel wheel and 16" rear wheels, making this a stroller that truly serves every purpose.

The smooth swivel wheel lets you turn your Revolution on a dime when walking. Then, when you're ready for a workout, just fix the wheel forward and jog or sprint. What's more, you can maintain straight tracking while jogging by using the Revolution's exclusive adjustable tracking system.

When adjusted correctly, the front swivel wheel will be solid, with no 'play' to create resistance while you push. No other swivel wheel stroller offers this feature, only the BOB Revolution and the special edition Bob Stroller Strides. Couple this fantastic feature with the Revolution's one-step folding mechanics and you have a stroller that is as convenient as it is versatile. Also, with the BOB Single Car Seat Adapter you can use your Revolution as a travel system by attaching a Graco, Britax, or Peg Perego infant car seat . . . as soon as you're home from the hospital.

For your baby or toddler, the Revolution comes with a 5-point safety harness, and a seat recline that drops to a 70 degrees off vertical position. Extra cushioning keeps little ones comfy on long rides.

The suspension system with 3" of give and large rear wheels ensure a smooth ride over even and rugged terrains alike.  1-step compactable frame, parking brake, fine-tune adjustable suspension, safety wrist strap, and - as with all BOB jogging strollers - plenty of storage for any parent on the run gives families everything needed for a day out and about.

The BOB Revolution comes with the special Low Boy cargo pouch and dual seat pockets, and the seatback storage unit can hold up to two additional pounds (1 kg.), perfect for a quick snack, a few toys or whatever else comes up.

The BOB Revolution strikes the ideal balance between a walking stroller and a jogging stroller. It weighs a bit more and has less storage than most travel system strollers, but good luck taking one of them out for a jog – or even over some dirt trails. With the Revolution, you can manage any terrain with total ease, and it has a one-of-a-kind adjustable tracking system for jogging. Altogether, you have one of the best all-purpose strollers ever produced.

We cannot recommend this stroller enough; it is truly Revolutionary.

Comparison: Parents looking for a slightly lighter Revolution with a more compact fold (but less jogging potential) should check out the BOB Revolution 12" AW, with three 12" aluminum wheels instead of 16" rear wheels. If you have two kids, or like having plenty of extra room, take a peek at the two seater BOB Revolution Duallie double stroller, which is also car seat compatible.

Another great all-around walking and jogging stroller is the Baby Jogger Summit 360. The Summit 360 features automatic tracking instead of the BOB's adjustable tracking. The Summit 360 also features two rear 12" wheels instead of 16" rear wheels. Finally, the Summit 360 uses Baby Jogger's patented one-step fast fold for easy storage on the go.

For a great value, check out the Tike Tech Trax 360. In contrast to the BOB Revolution, the Trax 360 features an adjustable handlebar, something caretakers of different heights can appreciate. Unlike the Revolution, the Trax 360 does not have a suspension system. While the Trax 360 handles off-road adventure with ease, it is not suitable for jogging.

Love It!

Reviewer: Anonymous , Charleston, SC Date: November 05, 2009
I have had this for a few months and it works great. It fits in doorways that you'd never expect it to and it truly pushes intself. I don't run marathons but am pregnant again and it pushes easily for me to do a few miles without a problem. Also, I live at the beach and am outdoorsy and thought I should get the fixed wheel but no - having the option of fixed/not fixed is amazing. If I were to do it over again I'd buy the dualie Bob Revolution at the beginning of child #1 and just be done with all other strollers.

Reviewer: Sarah , San Diego, CA Date: October 31, 2009
I love my BOB stroller but I am sad to say I do not love the lack of postural support it has. My son (who is now 15 months old) is always slouched way down and, like other reviewers, I have found no way to remedy this. I will be returning it. TEMPLATES: I?M SORRY YOU WEREN?T SATISFIED:

Toddler hates slouching!

2
Reviewer: Nhalia , Brandon, MS Date: September 15, 2009
My little one loved walks in this stroller when we had the car seat adapter on it. Now that shes older, she hates being in it for more than 5 minutes. Because of the way the back of the revolution is made, it allows the back to slouch very uncomfortably. We're still trying to find a fix to this. I cant believe so few people have had this problem. Every time I put her in it she arches her back and starts to cry. She doesnt do this in our other stroller. Other than that, the revo is very easy to push, and the shock system is great, but that doesn't really matter much if your toddler wont ride in it, does it? Maybe again when shes older...

The Best!

Reviewer: Anonymous , Boston, MA Date: August 27, 2009
I bought the single version 3 1/2 years ago, and sold it to fund the double version 18 months ago when I had a 2nd child. I love this stroller. The only complaint I have is the lock and fold issue, but as a previous poster said, just use the hand strap, problem solved. I have never had an issue with a slouching baby, toddler or preschooler. I used my single BOB since my 1st son was 7months, and the duallie from birth (with the car seat adapter). I waited to jog until the recommended ages, but I have never seen either child slump. In fact, they both sit so comfortably, they almost always fall asleep! The sun shade is by far the best I have ever seen. BOBs rule!

Just take the yellow security strap and loop it around the handle and bring it back to the velcro. Works like a charm.

rides like a dream

Reviewer: Anonymous , Nanaimo, B.C Date: August 02, 2009
I bought this stroller and really love it..The canopy is the best I have ever seen on a stroller and it rides like a dream! Good quality compared to alot of the other strollers in this price range.. However I do have a few dislikes..First and Most important is the seat is horrible..my son is always slouched..he has very poor posture in this stroller and he usually will slump to one side..and he is not a little baby he is 17 months and 34 lbs.I can only imagaine what a smaller baby would be like. I bought the Warm Fuzzy and this has seemed to help the problem. Another problem I encountered was that the area on the stroller that is behind my sons knees when his feet are in the foot spot rubs on his legs and leaves big welts behind his knees. He usually rides with his legs spread over the sides of the stroller..again the Warm fuzzy rectified this problem. The only thing is when I spend this much on a stroller you wouldnt think you would need to shell out more money for something to make the seat comfortable enough to sit in! The basket is also small and very hard to access and the area where the feet go gets very dirty and is hard to keep clean. My foot area is gray and it is a mess.I would reccomend trying to find one which has a dark area there. Overall I would reccomend the stroller..all the faults I found werent enough to cancel out the magnificent canopy and the beautiful ride! The warm fuzzy is really very beautiful I highly reccomend it, it is definately worth the additional money.

Locking Solution

4
Reviewer: Anonymous , San Francisco, CA Date: July 30, 2009
I used the double version of this stroller for 3 years with my now 4 year old and 3 years old. The fact it doesn't lock when folded is doubly annoying with the double stroller, but I use a small bunji cord to lock it in place and it is manageable. I am now on my way to a 3rd child and am considering buying the single but am concerned aobut the slouching issue a few reviewers have brought up. Anyone else out there with that issue?

Awesome for owner, poor for toddler

2
Reviewer: Anonymous , Washington DC Date: July 26, 2009
Bought this stroller and was initially blown away by its build quality and how well it works for the person pushing it or jogging behind it. It is exceptionally smooth and just feels great to push. It looks fantastic too. However, for your baby or toddler, there is a fatal flaw. The seat back cardboard/fabric is bent when it's in its most upright position. So your baby sits slouched all the time. To our astonishment, we found no way to correct this. No ties to tighten in the middle of the back to straighten it. No latches or anything that can make the back straight. Your baby is stuck slouching. My wife and I were not ok with this, and so unfortunately we're returning this and going to buy another brand. It's too bad because this is the only major issue we had, but it's a big one.

Almost perfect

Reviewer: Anonymous , Northern, NJ Date: July 24, 2009
I thought long and hard about spending the $$ on a BOB but after I tried out the BOB versus other brands in the $150-250 range, this was the clear winner--most of them have no suspension system. This handles like a dream, I use it for light jogs, walks on bumpy sidewalks and the park. I would not take this stroller to the city or airports (we have a lightweight stroller for that) but we're active and wanted a stroller for walks, jogs, parks, etc. My complaints--for nearly $400, they could figure out a way to lock it in the folded position (seriously? fix this!) and they really should include a rain shield and console--all the cheaper brands include these!!!
