not quite as good as I had hoped

I researched double strollers extensively once number two was on the way. We saved for a year and bought the City Elite Double when baby two was six months and baby one was 3. It is a very sturdy stroller and far above its peers in overall quality. As nice as it is, it is very overpriced. We have had some trouble with ours, though I would still choose it over any other. The adjustable handlebar has been great. My husband and I are a full one-foot different in height, but the handlebar does not stay in place. The bumpier the terrain (like gravel paths) the sooner it drops out of place. Baby Jogger sent us a replacement handle but it does the same thing. It seems to be a design flaw in that the inner pin that is supposed to hold the position jiggles from use (even on smooth sidewalks) and causes the bar to drop. We just pop it back up and carry on. My first stroller had a terrible flaw in the plastic clip near the shoulder strap that actually cut my baby's head. There was a plastic tag that should have been smoothed in manufacturing, but wasn't. Baby Jogger sent a replacement stroller immediately. The second one still has the little tag in the same seam spot, but it is not large enough to cause any harm. For the money charged, such imperfections should not be present! I also found errors in the owner's manual (probably due to the fact it's made in China and not the US) and it is obviously not proofed by someone who is a native English speaker. We are also finding that we have to inflate the tires more frequently than we'd like... Storage capacity is awesome. We fit all size water bottles and anything else we need in the provided pockets. Bottom basket is awkward to get a big item into as the center bar is in the way. I would not spend more $ on the console bags or belly bar. I do have the rain shield. My kids, now 1 and 3, are very comfortable. It fits them well. Sun canopies are awesome-the best. Despite its flaws, this is still a fantastic stroller, but still priced way beyond what any stroller should be. And for the price they charge, better attention to quality control is merited.

Awesome Stroller

We bought this stroller last summer after much consideration and planning as to which one to get. We have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old. It is awesome! We mostly use it for walks and store it in the garage but when we have taken it places, it fits into the trunk of our Chevy Impala just fine. It is heavy, but I don't mind that for the exchange of such durability. I feel like I am pushing around the pick up trucks of strollers without it feeling too bulky. It has fit through every doorway I have gone through shopping. The seats are so versatile - both our kids fit comfortably into it in spite of their size difference. The only real downside I have found is that the basket underneath is not very user friendly and hard to get bags into. This stroller is definitely worth the money!

Best Double Stroller On The Market, Bar None (but won't keep your kids dry)!

This is the 3rd double stroller we've owned, and we have yet to find a flaw (other than not including a rain cover with the purchase...). This is the ultimate SUV of double strollers. DO NOT BUY THIS STROLLER IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A LIGHTWEIGHT, SMALL PRODUCT! Don't expect a lightweight stroller that is made to toss into the car on a daily basis unless you have a SUV. It's heavy, so understand that before buying it. It's big and bulky, so understand that before buying it. These things shouldn't come as a surprise, as if you've ever seen one, your vision and logic will draw you to these conclusions. Do buy it if you want the most well thought out/engineered/constructed/quality of finish and materials stroller on the market today.
The storage is endless. Underneath storage is EASILY accessible from any side, as well as the great behind the seat storage. It pushes like a dream, easy, light and smooth. Completely effortless. The wheel lock works well and is well placed. The seat recline is awesome and the vented fabric keeps the kids more comfortable.
Minor annoyance: The grease in the front wheel brackets tighten up when it's cold out making it difficult to take tight turns. They should look into this...

The Best Double Out There!

I debated about which double stroller to buy for MONTHS and saved up to be able to buy the best. I have not been disappointed! Here are the things that I love about the stroller: 1) It really does fit through every door I have encountered! 2) The sunshades are amazing for coverage and the have useful extra features like vents and double peeking windows. 3) The seats are super comfy and roomy and the recline is easy and low. My kids sleep easily in it. 4) The buckle is high-quality and secure, but still usable with my arthritic hands. 5) The fold is the best around (although they did complicate it with safety snaps- but I don't use them). 6) The handlebar has an impressive range of motion, but it very sturdy so I can push down on it to lift the front wheels. 7) The parent console has tons of pockets for everything from keys to water bottles. 8)It is such a sturdy stroller, I often have all 4 of my kids (age 7 months to 6 1/2 years) on it at once. The oldest two sit on the front footrest area (which I have used as a place to sit and rest or nurse the baby.) 8) The fabric/design is gorgeous and high-quality. 9) It fits easily in the back of our '06 Dodge Grand Caravan (has stow and go trench in trunk). It can also fit (tightly) on the side between the middle bench and the sliding door. It takes up about 2/3 of the trunk.
These are the downsides, as I see them: 1) The underbasket is not easy to get to, making it nearly impossible to put my medium sized diaper bag in it. 2) The double front wheels do make it a little harder to maneuver than a single wheel. 3) It is heavy, but if I can lift it with my arthritis and bad back, most anyone could. I use it mostly outdoors and store it in the garage, so I don't have to lift it often. 4) Since there is no chest clip, my 3 year old can and does get his arms free, but he can't get all of the way out, because the pelvic buckle is too secure. 5) As is to be expected, it is bulky and it was sometimes awkward to find a place to park/rest it at mall playgrounds, in restaurants, post office, etc. We walk to these places (where most people drive), so I have to consider it's size.
OVERALL: I love it and do not regret spending what I did. It has made most outings (not mall shopping) with 4 kids much more manageable.

Love this stroller!

This stroller is the bomb! I have used it every day since I received it that it hasn't rained. It is sturdy, has plenty of storage for keys, drinks for all, and cell phone etc. on the hand rail. It has a large under stroller basket and plenty of other pockets. A must for me is the 360 degree front swivel wheels that can lock in place for straight more serious jogging. It suits all of my needs and the kids are comfortable. I used to have a push cart where one can ride in front and one can stand or sit in back, but the kids would fight over who gets to ride where. This way they ride side by side - equally. The push cart is so hard to push on a paved street. This stroller can be pushed with one finger with my 4 and 5 year old in it. It fits through a standard door beautifully. It has a lock-in-place brake system that beats the hand brake on my brother's jogging stroller that does not lock in place. My brother is always complaining about his BOB; the front wheel doesn't swivel, so he has to "pop a wheely" to make a turn. It was a snap to assemble. I did it myself in 10 - 15 minutes!
My only complaint is the heaviness of it. Make sure you snap the safety straps onto the frame so it doesn't collapse by accident. I noticed on the BOB the red levers for collapsing the stroller could be mistaken for brakes - I almost collapsed it while my nephew was in it the other day by accident.

I love this stroller! This is my 3rd double jogger this summer. Obviously, I returned all the others. It's so true--you get what you pay for. Everything about this stroller is amazing....the seat backs are tall enough so it can last a long time. The canopies are the best I've seen. It pushes very easily. The parent console is really nice. I just wish the basket underneath didn't have the cross bar right in the middle. It make it hard to put large bags under it. So I just bought a really large Le Sport Sac bag and hung it like a Skip Hop bag and now there isn't much of a need for the bottom basket...maybe just use it to put the kids jackets or a blanket under. Just don't pack too many heavy things in the bag, just to keep it from tipping over. I totally recommend this stroller. I just need to buy a good bike lock so when I take it to parks and zoos and have to park it to go see an attraction, someone doesn't take it. I got the red, and it's a nice red, not a cheap looking red. Get it--you'll love it!

We Love It!

I bought the Baby Jogger City Elite in March for my 1-year-old twins, and it is amazing! It pushes like a dream, has plenty of storage and looks fabulous. The only drawback is that it is huge, and would not work as my everday "car" stroller (I did know this when I bought it). To solve that problem, I bought the
City Mini Double , and it has proven to be awesome for that purpose. Go
Baby Jogger!
If you want a great walking stroller, this is it, but if you want a lighter weight, more portable stroller that still pushes beautifully, go for the Mini.

This stroller has pretty much been life changing. I love taking walks with my two little ones and they love it as well... always begging to go for a walk. Most of the time they are fast asleep because it is so comfortable for them. Pair this stroller with a strollometer for motivation and an mp3 player and you'll have a great journey out that feels like "me"-time. Incredible quality! If this is in your budget, don't hesitate!!!

I just bought the Baby Jogger City Elite and love it!. I have 2 boys that are big for their age-2 yrs (40 lbs) & 10 months old (23 lbs), you can't even tell you are pushing them. And it's so easy to push with 1 hand. There are tons of pockets, I don't even have to carry a diaper bag when I use my stroller. The only downfall is that it weighs 39 lbs. And you have to learn the trick to folding it, so it doesn't bang against your legs or the ground. I found folding it from behind is the easiest way. I compared double strollers forever and narrowed it down to the Baby Jogger City Elite and
BOB Revolution 12"AW . The BOB pushes a hair easier but not by much and you don't get as many pockets.
