Not So Sure

I have 11 month old twin boys and I spent a few weeks researching for a double stroller. I decided upon the City Double because most of the reviews I read were positive and the Baby Jogger brand has been around for a long time. I have the stroller now for four months and I have to say I am not so sure this stroller is all that is cracked up to be. After using it for a little over a month the rubberized material covering the folding parts has frayed and there is small rip. I use the stroller in the mall and on walks around the neighbourhood. I have been careful with it because it is not a cheap stroller. So when I noticed the rip and fraying, I was surprised. After two and a half months of use, a wire frame has poked through the sun shade fabric.
I have to say that Baby Jogger has very good customer service. After I called about the problems I have with the stroller, they sent me a new one without charge. So far the new one is fine. So now I am wondering if the first stroller I got is just a dud and if it is then what does that say about the quality control?
On the positive side, the stroller handles beautifully and the sun shade coverage is very generous. The seats are comfortable because I don't hear any complaints from the twins.
If you are considering this stroller I suggest doing more research and trying it out if you can get your hands on one. It is afterall a big ticket item.

Loving my BabyJogger City Series Double

We love our BabyJogger City Series Double Stroller. I'll preface this by saying that this is our 4th double stroller and our old Inglesina Twin served us well until this point. My little ones are 2 and 3 and my husband, friends and family all wondered why I would bother to purchase yet another stroller. However, after a fun filled weekend of whisking about on BART, in SF and at the Zoo, even my husband suggested I "go online and write a raving review." PROS: Compact when fully opened, comfy with room to grow, fun for kids (they like the see thru windows in the canopies), highly maneuverable. CONS: a bit heavy when folded. No regrets.

Great!

I bought the Baby Jogger City Series and have been very satisfied with the purchase. Here are few things I like:
1. My son is tall and over 4 years old...he fits great & he has room to grow.
2. I have an 8 month old & she is always covered with the separate shades. These shades cover more than all the others we tried out.
3. I am only 5'1", but with the adjustable handle, I do not feel like the stroller is too big.
4. The assembly is almost too easy. I couldn't believe it -- I put it together without my husband's help.
It is heavy folded & it has taken me a long time to get it folded as flat as the directions specify.
But other than that...I would recommend it to anyone! I love it!

I LOVE THIS STROLLER!!

I spent a few weeks researching double strollers and I was most impressed with the Baby Jogger City Series double stroller. I had previously purchased the Maclaren twin stroller which was great for indoor surfaces but because it was too bumpy of a ride to go for walks around the block with, I decided to buy the City Series double jogger in Lilac. I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 4 month old and they fit GREAT in this stroller. Now we all love going for walks!! The swivel feature is GREAT!! It really is so easy to push this stroller even with my kids different weight distributions. The stroller is very easy to close, and I also LOVE its sun shade canopy!!! Because it fits thru any doorway, I was able to sell the Maclaren and use this as my only stroller. NOW THE 2 CONS: It is a bit heavy/bulky (but it is a double stroller) and the swivel feature on my first stroller did not work. Baby jogger was so great though. Sarah Graves in customer service was so helpful; she got a new frame out to us ASAP and arranged for FED-X to pick up our old frame at our convenience and at no cost to us. I would certainly recommend this stroller to anyone. It may seem a bit expensive but it is SO worth the money!!!

I spent months researching double strollers. I really just wanted to buy one and be done with it. After we got the baby jogger city series and put it together I was very nervous b/c it seemed big and bulky. Before going out and buying a new one (a light weight stroller for quick trips around town) I decided to take it on a few errands and give it a try. After doing so I realized I don't need another stroller. This is the best there is!! I absolutely love it. It is a bit on the heavy side but all doubles are. I have a 2 month old and 2 year old and they do great in it as well. I would love if it had cup holders and a tray for the kids but I can get over that. If you are in the market for a double stroller this one is worth the extra money.

I have had this stroller for about 3 weeks now. PROS: glides smoothly, hardly feels like I am pushing 80 pounds, fits through all doorways I have tried and most aisles at the mall too, comfy for my 3yo and 16mo, big back of seat pockets, excellent leg room, turns on a dime with little effort, folds easily..not quite as flat as I would like but fits easily into my Malibu trunk with room still for groceries
CONS: it is not as roomy as I thought it would be for my 3yo after reading reviews. It fits him with some room to spare, just wondering for how long. Hard to use the bottom storage, but I think this is pretty typical in jogging strollers, the shoulder straps still seem too loose for my 16mo even when tightened to the max. BIGGEST CON: my adjustable handlbar slips in the second position. It justs pops back into the lowest position for no reason while I am pushing it. Very irritating, but would have still bought this stroller anyways. I have short legs and many strollers' handlebars are too tall for me.
I would def. recommend this to my friends and anyone interested in a DS for the mall, out and about, walking, jogging, etc.
If the slipping handlebars get fixed, it would be perfect then!!

A Great Stroller

After doing lots of online research, and interviewing our friends and random people on the street, we bought the Baby Jogger City Series Double for our newborn and 2.5 year old girls in the Spring of 2007. We had been spoiled with the Bugaboo Frog for our first daughter so we wanted a comparable double. We have been very happy with the BJCSD.
After looking at all the other comparable doubles, we went with the BJCSD for the following reasons:
1. It handles beautifully. It is almost as easy to push as the Bugaboo. It can even be pushed with one hand. It has great air filled tires which handle bumps and off roading remarkably well. There is no difference in how well it handles whether there are 1 or 2 kids on board.
2. My children ride comfortably side by side while I easily push through doorways that upon first glance look way too narrow! We are always happily surprised at how easy it is to maneuver in the city and while shopping in busy areas.
3. Our girls are very tall and they will not be outgrowing this anytime soon! They have plenty of room to grow into the BJCSD.
4. It is equally comfortable for both girls. We didn't want one in the back or in the "cheap seat." They love sitting side by side. Our now 8 month old has always LOVED the comfort of this seat and we have not had any problems with her since she was an infant. She loves it! Our little one can fall fast asleep fully reclined while our big girl stays busy sitting up, wearing binocs and looking for woodpeckers. Everyone is happy!
5. The sun canopies are unmatched. We are outdoors all the time and have never had any issues with the sun on our girls. The sun shades can be detached to cover them from head to toe. They are better than the Bugaboo.
6. The folding mechanism is tops. This stroller could not be easier to fold.
7. I was pleasantly surprised with how much storage space there is! The under storage area isn?t great but the huge pockets on the back of both seats are very roomy. I often end up ditching the diaper bag and stuffing everything in the big pockets but everything always fits with room to spare.
If I had to think of one negative aspect of this stroller I would say that it is heavy and cumbersome when folded...but aren't all double strollers that way? My husband who was initially skeptical has been won over. All of our friends are getting this stroller and thanking us for the recommendation. We choose this stroller over the Bugaboo with wheeled board for our girls every time. Buy the BJCSD and I don?t think you will be sorry!

I really wanted to get a versatile stroller for my 2 year old and 12 week old. This stroller looked like it was compact, easy to set up, and was able to fit through almost any doorway. Well it doesn't really fold as flat as I'd like, and once I set it up in my house, it wouldn't fit through my front door (I live in an 80 year old house)... But otherwise I would recommend this to someone who likes their children to ride in comfort, side by side, and if you use the stroller for outdoor exercise and indoor activities as well. I would not recommend taking this stroller on the metro, but otherwise I think it serves its purpose.

Excellent Stroller

The City Series had been recommended to me when my second child was born. But I thought I could get by with another, less expensive, stroller. Boy was I wrong. I wish I would have started with this stroller.
The City Series is so easy to maneuver, I can make tight turns with one hand. The seats are roomy (even for my tall 3 year old) and the stroller fits through doorways. It folds easily and compactly (no bigger than my Zooper Boogie single when folded). Like others have said, the canopies provide excellent coverage.
Minor things I wish I could change: I am not a fan of the recline system on the seats. With the pulley I find it difficult to push the seat upright when the baby is in the seat. While there are a lot of pockets on the seat backs, I wish there were some kind of storage on the handle - for a cell phone, mp3, keys, or even a drink.
But these are minor issues compared with the overall beauty of this stroller. I am so happy with my purchase and I think you will be, too.
