Our Review of the Bugaboo Frog stroller
The Bugaboo Frog is the model that started it all for Bugaboo. Quite simply, The Frog is one of the most high-tech, versatile, and functional strollers out there. The Frog, along with the Bugaboo Cameleon, has been well hyped by celebrities, and can be spotted in hip urban neighborhoods across the globe.
Named for its unique frog-like suspension swivel wheels, the Bugaboo Frog gives you maximum transportation options and minimum headaches (or backaches). Using nothing but intuitive engineering (buttons and click-locks and releases) this stroller adapts easily to fit your needs. The Frog has a ton of features, accessories, and a wealth of possible configurations.
The Frog's strength comes from its lightweight aluminum chassis. Two 12" stationary wheels provide stability, while two swiveling 6" wheels offer maximum maneuverability. The 3-position seat or bassinet anchors onto the frame. The bassinet feature (note - roomier than most) is great for a newborn and will accommodate a child up to about 6 months.
Once you've mastered the basic set-up, it's simple to convert the Frog and adapt it to any situation. Your passenger can opt to face forward or backward. With the simple flip of the handlebar, you can lead with the larger fixed wheels to maneuver over bumpy paths at the park or navigate through fresh snow.
At the beach, Bugaboo's clever 2-wheel position makes it simple to trek across the sand. The underseat storage basket attaches to the bottom of the chassis. While this storage isn't immediately accessible while strolling, it can hold up to 8 lbs and cinches to keep your belongings secure. Designed to be totally portable, the Frog folds easily to stow in the trunk or take on the train.
(Please Note: The seat of the Bugaboo Frog MUST be removed before folding. And proper folding of all Bugaboo strollers is a multi-step process.)
Bugaboo also offers some great accessories that help you get the most out of your stroller. One of the most popular is the car seat adapter. which allows you to connect either the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio or Graco SnugRide or SafeSeat infant car seat onto the Frog chassis for a complete travel system solution.
Take some time to watch the instructional CD-ROM or read the manual that comes with the Bugaboo Frog—it gives you a chance to get familiar with the Frog so you can make the most of each option and feature.
