What about us city folk??!

This adapter seems to only have been made for people who have cars! I live in New York City and we don't have a car (most people don't here). That being said, I still need to use a car seat every time i take a cab with my baby. I was planning to snap my Peg Perego car seat onto the Bugaboo stroller today, so that i could stroll around shopping and then take a cab home. ALAS, i can not do that b/c the car seat base can not be snapped on to the stroller as well (and is obviously necessary when riding in a car). Thus, there was no point in my getting these adapters since i can not lug around the base separately while out and about. UGGGGGH, this is so disappointing, especially since i was told the Bugaboo is a great city stroller. Now it seems its primarily for suburban moms with cars.

Thank you so much for your review. I?m SO sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your Car Seat Adapter. We try to provide as much information we can on our website and through our customer service staff to ensure customers like you end up with a product that is perfect for your needs.
Based off of your feedback, I would suggest referencing the instruction manual for your infant car seat for the steps to install your car seat without the base. That should help when you are out and about and need a quick method to install your child's infant car seat. I have installed my daughter's infant seat without the base a few times. You will be surprised how quick and easy it is! I hope this helps!
Please feel free to contact us with any other questions or concerns you may have and thanks again for the feedback!

THE WAY TO WORK THIS ADAPTER
Reviewer: Damian ,

The reason for some of the confusion on earlier posts is because people are using the white buttons on the side of the Adapter to release it from the Stroller. The way to release it is actually to use the release button on the Car Seat itself (just as you would when you take it out the car).
That way the Adapter remains on the Stroller at all times.
The only criticism I have is that when I go to put the Car Seat back on to the Stroller/Adapter, it is not easy to line up, and therefore requires some messing around (not easy when you are holding a car seat+baby!)...

So, So Convenient...

The only thing I don't care for about the adaptors is that you have to remove them from both the stroller chassis and the car seat in order to put the car seat in the car and fold up the chassis. The adaptors lock out the chassis from being folded, so you have to remove and then reattach the adaptors each time you go to put the car seat on the chassis. It's just one more thing you have to do...otherwise it is nice being able to just snap the car seat and go. Also, it was probably mentioned before, but you can't leave the adaptors in the car seat and put the car seat in the base, they have to be reomoved first...
I love my Bug, but it could use some minor improvements.

Bugaboo Car Seat Connector - Peg Perego

Confused where to put baby when you snap back into car. Attaching the carseat to bugaboo is no problem, but the instructions say you are not to have your child in the car seat when attaching/removing the adapters. So I can't use it as a snap and go to put the car seat back into the car without waking the child and having a second person on standby to hold baby. I'm really confused so if someone could help me out. I've been practicing as my baby is due today!
Comments from The Staff:
You need to install the adapter to your stroller one time, and then leave the adapter on the stroller itself, and then just put the car seat on.
You should not have to take the adapter on and off each time that you move the seat.
The only other reason I can think of that might cause confusion would be if you were taking it on and off and using the bassinet. If you are using the bassinet, and then taking that off to put the car seat adapter on to use the car seat and then were switching back to the bassinet, you would really be taking the adapter on and off all the time, but not while you are using it with the car seat.

This was a life saver with our newborn. We could literally click and go with the Primo Viaggio. It is so easy to use and versatile.

Update on previous review

I wish to amend my previous review of the car seat adapters to fit in the Peg Perego car seat. It turns out that the first car seat I purchased was defective in the fact that the place where you insert the adapter had extra plastic from the mold it was made from. I purchased a second Primo Viaggio SIP to see if the problem was with the car seat as I had originally thought. IT WAS!!!! The adapters fit the second one with absolutely no problem!!!!! WHEW!! I regret that I posted my previous review before I tested the Bugaboo product for the second time. Please forgive me. For those of you who do purchase the Peg Perego car seat, the adapters should fit easily in. If they don't, the problem is with the car seat.
Again, I apologize for my hasty review. I love my stroller and cannot wait until my baby gets here so I can get lots of mileage on it!!

Not compatible with Peg Perego 2006 SIP
Reviewer: Anonymous ,

I purchased my Bugaboo Frog and the adapter for the Peg Perego car seat from this site/dealer on 12/27/2006. I purchased my Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP car seat on 1/05/2007. I would imagine that I received the newest version of the car seat adapter. It did not work. Beware if you plan on purchasing the Peg Perego car seat to accompany the Bugaboo stroller.
I did receive excellent service from this distributor when I placed my order. I am kind of disappointed that I was not informed of this problem when I ordered the adapter. When I called to inquire about the problem, I was told to contact Bugaboo directly.
Comments from The Staff:
The Bugaboo Car Seat Adapter was remanufactured to work with 2006 Peg Perego seats. The Adapter we sell is one of these new ones, and DOES work with the 2006 seats. We only suggested you to contact Bugaboo to see if they could advise you as to whether or not you were installing the adapter on to the stroller correctly - we suspected you might have a defective adapter, and wanted to replace it for you.
Thanks!

Incompatable w/ 2006 Peg Perego carseat
Reviewer: Nora Doherty ,

Beware: the adapters that worked for the 2005 car seat do not work for the 2006 car seat.
Comments from The Staff:
This is sort of true. The old adaptors do not fit the new 2006 Peg Perego. The new ones, that we sell, do fit both 2005 and older, as well as the new ones. So yes, buyers beware when buying from other sites that don't specify which model it is, or when buying used. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks!
