    good for most bikes

the hitch works fine, but be aware that on some bikes the rear-dropouts or brakes may obstruct installation. in my case, i have a bike with rear disc brakes, which prevents the normal attachment of the hitch safety tether, since the tether would grind against the brake disc. also, if you run fenders or a rear rack (and you should definitely use fenders to prevent small debris or water fling-off from flying onto your precious cargo!!), the rear eyelets *may* interfere with the large quick-release hitch housing. in my case it's a very tight fit, and i have to loosen the fender/rack eyelets and then attach the hitch housing, and then re-tighten the fender/rack so that the bolts don't prevent proper closure on the quick release (my eyelets are rather close to the dropouts). finally, be sure to measure your rear dropout, as you *must* have a half-inch of flat space around the left-side (non-drive side) dropout. some dropouts have rounded lugs very close to the dropout, which prevents the hitch housing from attaching flush to the frame (this is necessary). for most bikes this will not be an issue, but i know for a few people it was an unfortunate discovery. the hitch, in all othr respects, works flawlessly. 4 stars for over-building the hitch, when a slightly smaller housing would have been fine.
