Schwinn Joyrider Trailer

after spending weeks researching and looking at just about every trailer our there, we decided on the Joyrider for $317 shipped to our door. We had been looking at the Burley D'Lite but couldn't justify spending the $$$$!! but, we really wanted a bench seat and not a sling seat where the kids ultimately end up complaining that they are squished together. this trailer is super easy to assemble with no tools. It is sturdy, attractive, easy to attach (we ride recumbents) and a breeze to pull. Our son is 40" tall and weighs 38#. It would be nice if the waist belt adjusted a little bigger (for jeans and jacket bulk),but the multiple height adjustments and slight recline option are a big hit. We get comments everywhere we go. It folds in one step and takes seconds to pop off the wheels if you want to. converting to the stroller is also a breeze and it didn't cost an extra $100+!! Overall, you can't go wrong with this purchase! Happy pedaling.

This is a lot pricier than some of the other trailers, but you can feel how well it's built with every corner. It's extraordinary how smoothly it rides. I've used it with a bicycle and with an eGO Cycle (electric scooter, max 24 MPH), and it keeps up with everything. I've pulled my kid in it (with bicycle and scooter both); I've hauled groceries in it (with the scooter); I've taken recycling to the depot with it (again with the scooter). I will say that the instructions aren't that great. The photos are grainy black-and-white, and we had some trouble setting it up. Nor did I get a lot of help from the company when I called. But ever since I got it set up and moving, it's been a fantastic trailer, and worth the price. And it looks very cool too, unlike a lot of bicycle trailers.

This stroller is great! It holds 2 kids comfortably, it attaches safely to a bike and coverts fast to jog. And all attachments have a place on the stoller! We love it!

We bought the Schwinn Joyrider as a replacement for our InStep Rocket, which was stolen from outside our apartment. THINGS I LIKE: Great design, well ventilated, easy to fold up (so I can bring it inside so it won't get stolen like our other one), slightly narrower than the Rocket, much easier seat belts and vastly better seat support so seating 2 kids will be easier, washable seat, nice quality fabric, and my nearly 3 year old daughter can get in and out herself. THINGS I DON'T LIKE: The weight! According to the specs, it is supposed to weigh 32lbs, but according to the net weight on the box, it weighs in at a hefty 42.5 lbs...which I really noticed when I took it out this morning. It is vastly different to the InStep Rocket! If the InStep Rocket were say, a Chevy Malibu, then the Joyrider would rank as a Toyota Tundra. Nice and chunky, better ride, but a bit of a boat anchor! The only other thing I don't like is the lack of helmet accomodation in the seat - I still need to put a small pillow behind my daughter's back so there's room for her helmet without forcing her head forward, and making life generally uncomfortable for her. Overall, I am glad we traded up to the Joyrider. Hopefully I will develop buns of steel to haul my daughter to the playground and library each week (6 miles round trip) and not notice the added weight. (But hey, nicer components come at a price, I guess. :-) ) If not for the extra weight issue, I would have rated this trailer 5 stars.

We love this trailer! It has every feature I wanted at a fair price. I converts so easily and it is so comfortable for my son. We will be recommending this trailer to everyone!

The Schwinn Joyrider Trailer/Stroller is "Almost" Perfect... I love it, my boys (4 yrs & 16 mos) love it, and everywhere we go it starts conversations, brings questions, and people tell me it is the coolest stroller/trailer they've seen. What keeps the Schwinn Joyrider Trailer/Stroller from being Perfect? 1. Yes, the price is quite a bit higher than you can find at your local chain store, but the quality of the Joyrider is significantly better than those products too and the seamless & quick transition from stroller to trailer make it a cut above. The Joyrider offers features such as the adjustable height handlebar, domed mesh screen and detachable weather shield, the removable seat pads (which are crucial when your toddler has an "accident" or spills his drink everywhere), plastic/rubber floor for easy clean-up, adjustable harnesses (sit right, left, center, or two at the same time), storage area that can fit several bags of groceries I had an InStep bike trailer from a chain store that converted to a stroller and it served its purpose, but there is no comparison. 2. I would like this product to come with a sun shield (I would buy it as an additional accessory if they made one). I bought the Joyrider because I couldn't find a trailer/jogger with anything more than a glorified parasol, which does not work in the afternoon sun and I thought I could use the weather shield in a way to make it suffice. (I safety-pinned on burp cloths to the Instep's mesh to serve this purpose on long walks). At the very least, the weather shield could have some minor modifications made to serve this purpose more effectively. I have found a not-perfect way to use the weather shield for this purpose (while it is zipped on, I fold it up twice to keep the low morning or afternoon sun off of my fair-skinned toddler). If the weather shield had some additional Velcro tabs on it, that would make it work much better. When I walk in the wind it is a bit of a hassle to keep it in place to protect my little guy from the sun. And, when I am biking, the wind can unravel the fold and it will flap. A sun shield is not a deal-breaker since the weather shield sort of works, but it would definitely enhance the product. 3. Another reason I chose the Joyrider was for the purpose of fitting two boys comfortably, which it does (my eldest is 4 ft tall and 58 lbs. and wears a size 7, and can fit in there with my 16 month old who is 29 lbs and wears 24 months)... the drawback is that it is a little wider than most (by a couple inches) and you do occasionally run into a doorway that you cannot navigate easily. I have only had to take one of the side wheels off once (and that was easy with the push of a button)... (I now know the one store that has a larger entry door than exit door- go figure). In any case, it hasn't kept me from going where I want to go with it. I even take in in the very back of my Mercury Sable wagon. I can fit my sons bike (16in) and the collapsed Joyrider in the very back, I just release the front swivel wheel. 4. Lastly, I just had to re-order a replacement for the cup holder & zippered pack accessory. It fell off somewhere while I was riding. It had done that a few times especially when going over rough terrain while holding a full bottle of water, so I should have known better. The replacement was only $7 plus shipping, so that was great news. When it arrives I plan to wire that thing on so it will never fall off again. (I'm just glad my cell phone wasn't in the zippered pack where I normally put it). Perhaps instead of a metal tab, there could actually be clips to secure this accessory better. All around an "Almost" Perfect product!

We are very happy with our stroller/trailer. We had some problems at first but the Schwinn representative was very helpful and replaced our defective one. My one problem with the stroller is that there are many doors it will not go through, we have to remove a wheel in order for it to go through a regular sized doorframe.

Do yourself a favor and get this stroller if you want one that is: well engineered, made of sturdy materials, is safe, looks great, has plenty of room, and is versatile! I was BEYOND impressed with this right out of the box. It glides and turns like it's a hover craft! ;-)WAY better than I thought it was going to be. I have 2 year old twins and this trailer/stroller is the BEST I've seen. (money no object)VERY smart design and folds quite small for what it is.
