Our Review of the Valco Tri Mode Toddler Seat - Single

Double the carrying capacity of your Valco Tri-Mode Stroller by adding the Tri Mode Toddler Seat!  This is a great option for families with a 'big kid' who still likes to hitch a ride once in a while, and it's definitely an inexpensive alternative to a wide side-by-side double stroller.  Best of all, the Toddler Seat simply folds down when it's not in use; no need to remove it.

Note: Toddler Seat only; Valco Tri-Mode sold separately. Also, the weight maximum for the toddler seat itself is 45lbs. So add 45lbs. to the maximum weight capacity of the Tri-Mode when figuring the total weight capacity of the stroller.

Disappointing

Reviewer: Anonymous , Hoboken, NJ Date: April 18, 2007
The toddler seat seemed like a great idea but with our 2+ year old daughter on the front of the stroller, my husband and I find the stroller very difficult to maneuver. (My daughter weighs about 30 lbs; the toddler seat purports to support 45 lbs.) After buying and using the stroller with the toddler seat, I saw that some other people (on other websites) had registered similar complaints. With a toddler on the front, the stroller is too heavily weighted on the front wheel and it is VERY hard to steer. And it is not supersafe -- we've never had it tip over but I've come closer than I would like when turning. It is not bad for short trips -- but I bought this as an alternative to a real double stroller and have been disappointed.

Comments from The Staff:

Hi there! Are you making sure that the tires are properly inflated? If they are, it will definitely make for an easier ride. After reading the review, I noticed that it seemed that you had expectations for this stroller to be used as your regular double stroller. The second seat is more geared as a supplement to a single, meaning that it is for an in between stage when you would want a twin but it is for such a short time that it doesn?t make sense to buy one. The use of the toddler seat is meant for when you have an older child that mainly walks but sometimes needs a rest or to drop off or pick up a child. It is not for use as a full service twin for full time use. I am glad that you are happy with it as a short tripper. If you have any question, please don?t hesitate to email us at info@joggingstroller.com.
