Great....Needs help

Reviewer: DMG3 , Seattle, WA Date: August 09, 2007
Great heart, distance measurements(w/foot pod) tried paring w/bike pod, did not work. Instructions not helpful. Potential is great, but needs to dummy down instructions. Suunto website tough to navigate, confusing. I goggled questions to get through the maze of the website. Like the video examples. Like the software. Like the Carmichael dvd. Already w/CMS, but supported decision over Polar.

Most Reliable HRM

4
Reviewer: Anonymous , Palo Alto, Ca Date: July 26, 2007
Compare to the other HRM watches, this watch is far more reliable. My old HRM would regular misread my heart rate and require manual editing of the data as it misread heart rates. The Suunto USB cable is far faster and more reliable than infrared link the other Finnish HRM monitor companies uses. Finally, unlike other HRM watches that look "geeky" this watch is attractive and can be worn all the time. I wear it all the time (even in the sauna) and it still looks like now, so it has held up very well and changing the battery is far easier than with the other companies watches. So why only 4 stars. The dot matrix display is hard to read at night (although to be fair to Suunto, I probable will soon need reading glasses) and the Sunnto software is just barely acceptable for such a premium device. But if you want the best HRM watch, this is definitely the watch to get.

T6

Reviewer: Jerry Murphy , Keller,TX Date: November 06, 2006
I have used quite of bit of other data collecting devices in order to perform as best as i could. The T6 has been a true indication of my actual effort. The power meters and the heart rate monitors have a place but lack the real readings that have a direct relation with how you physicaly performed. I have and will continue to recomend the T6 until they improve it and then i will purchase it and continue to improve.

Great Watch - need accessories

Reviewer: Anonymous , Madison, WI Date: October 30, 2006
Upgraded from X6 HR - needed something to Triathlon train with. The only complaint is that the Spindle-based speed meter is still backordered (SUUNTO manfg problem) - the watch is great the software is even better - still my favorite watch - owned polar 700 series - this is better - less delicate - I can change my battery! -

Suunto T6

1
Reviewer: Anonymous , Seattle, WA Date: October 27, 2006

I got the Suunto t6 to work using it while cycling; then I decided to use it hiking so I set it up to use foot pod and that worked, BUT then I decided to use the belt for cycling and it never worked after that; it kept looking for the foot pod; totally frustrating; so I sent it back. The instruction manual is terrible. I think the T6 works for one activity only: foot pod or chest belt, but you can't go back once you change from the chest belt to the foot bod.

Comments from the Staff: We contacted Suunto Tech for comments on this. According to them:

"The t6 connects to all three: the hr belt, bike POD, and foot POD. When a customer purchases an accessory pod, they need to 'PAIR' it to the specific Suunto watch. Listed under the pairing functions of the watch should be four options: 'HR Belt', 'BIKE POD', 'FOOT POD', 'SPD POD'. Unless the customer accidently paired his HR belt to his foot POD, there should be no reason that it should come up as otherwise. Our older models did not have options for all of these PODS (it only had HR belt and SPD POD) so if he has an older model, his watch should be sent in for a software update. Otherwise, I have always used my t6 for both running and cycling and have never had a problem. I recommend that he re-pairs all three items - the hr belt, foot POD, and bike POD to their respective options to make sure everything is in working order."

Suunto T6

Reviewer: Anonymous , Pennington, NJ Date: September 08, 2006
I purchased this watch and i love it. Although it isn't as sytlish as some other models i do think it performs better than expected. Getting used to the menu's on the watch can be confusing, and the software included is very good, but could always be better. I greatly recomend this product

t6 needs software improvement

3
Reviewer: Anonymous , New Orleans, LA Date: July 25, 2006
While the t6 performs as well as expected, the training software is below par. Current version 2.0.2 cannot even display speed in minutes per mile! I am forced to use the older version 1.3.4, which can convert speed accurately but lacks some of the upgrades in the newer version. Complicating the problem is the fact that Suunto is still not compatable with 3rd party software such as PC Coach. I certainly hope this is being addressed. While the watch truly surpasses Polar's equivalent, the software and compatability issues remain a sore spot. If Suunto can bring these issues up to par, I will be happy to bring them numerous new customers from my local running club.

Wouldn't be without this HRM when I am not on my bike with the SRM. Very accurate data. I am a CTS member and use this for training at home.
