Best Baby Gear Investment!

I can't praise this stroller enough. It is really easy to maneuver, rides very smooth, and really sturdy. Also, I won't lie, because it looks so good!
I understand this stroller could be little cumbersome to fold since it consists of two parts and takes lots of space in the trunk, but since I live in the city and walk almost everywhere this Bugaboo Cameleon is absolutely perfect. In fact, this is the only stroller we have until now and we have traveled to 3 continents. It rides on cobblestone in Europe as good as at the beach in FL. Even the rough, stroller-unfriendly pavements in Asia.
My son has been using it since he was 6 months old and now he is 2 and still enjoys the ride. My only regret, I wish I had this from the day one. I have always liked Bugaboo, but was a little put off by the high price and bought different (much cheaper) pram before he was born. Turned out it was a big mistake, was unnecessary expense since we finally bought this anyhow.
Other pros about this stroller, I can get the part that for something that might be broken or missing, and if in the future we have a daughter, we shall get another fabric set in different color.

Amazing! BUT.....
Reviewer: Samantha O'Brien ,

Ok, so I LOVE my Cameleon!!! It's so easy to maneuver and I love that it's not some huge, plastic travel system that so many people tried to talk me into. My son was born at 28 weeks and stayed in the NICU for almost 3 months, so we really never got to use the bassinet feature, but if we have another baby we will definitely use it. I have never had to collapse it to put it in my car and I'm admittedly scared to after some of the things I've read, but someone gave me a quick little stroller that my car seat snaps into.. for now. (I need to suck it up though; I've watched the demo enough times so I know I can do it.) Plus we take the the quick/cheaper one when we travel because if something happened to the Bugaboo on a plane I would just die!! Now the ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5? It needs a removable tray! My son is at the little snack and sippy cup stage and there's nowhere for him to put them!

shoulder straps useless
Reviewer: Anonymous ,
sydney Australia
Date: November 18, 2009
The big issue with this stroller is that you cannot raise and lower the shoulder straps. Our child slips his shoulder out and stands up. This is terribly dangerous and tiring for whoever is pushing him. If it were possible to change the strap position as your child grows, the stroller would be far less frustrating to use and considerably safer. The rest of the thing scores well. Shopping bag underneath is completely useless and the fact that by the time you have managed to work out how to fold it up and maneuver it into your car the child has grown up and left home is annoying. Otherwise its not bad.

I absolutely love the Cameleon. It is very easy to maneuver, and roll over rough terrain. It is also easy to adjust to fit your baby's comfort. For example, if your baby falls asleep in an upright position, you can adjust the angle of the seat so he/she is lying flat on their back. The bassinet was great for the first 3 months of my baby's life. It was nice to move him around our house so easily. Not only is this stroller comfortable for your baby and easy to use, but the appearance looks very modern and trendy. I would recommend this stoller for any new family.

We bought the Bug and love it! We used the car seat adaptor in winter (when my son was a newborn) and it was so easy and quick to unfold the stroller, attach the carseat and go. We're in Canada and the stroller has handled the cold weather, salt, slush and snow. When the sidewalks were really slushy, we just turned the stroller handle around and had the big wheels in front. I love that my son can face me or face forward. We bought the footmuff and feel very comfortable taking our son for walks in the cold fall, winter and spring days and evenings in Ontario. Thank you Bugaboo! The downside that I've noticed is that when we unfold the stroller, the seat attachment prongs touch the ground and are showing wear. We now have to be careful when unfolding the stroller to minimize the wear on the prongs.

Reviewer: Cynthia ,

For the most part I love the Bugaboo. It turns on a dime and the bassinet is great. I use the car seat adapters with the car seat so transporting the bassinet in the car is not an issue. I use it for walks around the neighborhood and that works out great.
The sun canopy does lack structure and collapses which is annoying because it does not offer enough coverage as it is...and for the price of the stroller this should not happen.
It does take getting used to folding and unfolding but once you do your not sure why it seemed difficult at first.
If Bugaboo fixed the sun canopy my review title would be excellent instead.

Love my Bug!
Reviewer: Kiki Gomez ,

Date: August 22, 2009
I bought my Bug only a week ago and i am head over heels with this stroller.
Before i used a Quinny Buzz stroller for the first 5 months of my baby's life..
My baby is now almost 6 months old and he loves riding in his Bug. The stroller is such a breeze to steer.. even one handed with my baby in it, i dont feel the extra weight when im pushing the stroller..
It looks so stylish, such a head turner.. especially in the country where i live right now (South East Asia) not so many people actually own a Bugaboo..
I love how i get to personalized my Cameleon and even buy an extra tailored fabric so i can change the color to suit my mood and occasion. This stroller is so versatile, multi-function, lightweight and clearly made from high quality materials..
It does get a bit tricky when it comes to folding the stroller since i have to take the seat off.. but i really dont mind since its quite easy to fold once u get the hang of it and since the stroller exceeds my expectations in other aspects.. the only thing i HATE about this stroller is the bumper bar! it is difficult to remove and i found it impossible to take it off with one hand while holding my baby in the other hand. And i cant put my baby in my Bug with the bumper bar attached to the stroller..
I wish the bumper could open like the bumper bar on my Quinny Buzz, where the bumper bar is so flexible and it doesnt need to be taken off completely, with one side of the handle bar still attached the stroller, the other side would just twist in any direction, giving me way and enough space to put my baby in the stroller..
I would give this stroller a 5 stars if not because of the bumper bar..
But thats about the only drawback i have with my Bug ..
And even with that being said.. i wont trade my Bug with any other stroller..

I have had my bugaboo camaleon for 3 yrs, and now we are having a second child. It is not the easiest item to collapse at first...you have to get used to it...and it you are always on the go as we are you will get the hand of it! We have used it on the beach, at the mall, and walking in the neighborhood. Then we bought a farm and it works great on country dirt roads! It is pricey but worth it. We had a bassinet so we never used that attachment with our first child. We will use it this time around for our new baby. If you are seeking a versatile and fashionable stroller buy it...and the ebay resale value is great if you decide it isnt for you...try that with a Graco on ebay!!

Think Twice
Reviewer: Anonymous ,
Voorhees, NJ
Date: August 02, 2009
I have never reviewed a product online but felt I had to say something to help those who might fall into the same trap that I did! I HAD TO HAVE this stroller when my first son was born. As soon as I got it the disappointment set in. It is probably the worst case of buyers remorse that I have ever had! I use it in my home as a bassinet for my newborns and that is about it! First time parents may think that its looks and name brand recognition are enough. Don't fall into that trap...it is the most impractical stroller on the market. You think that you are getting a bassinet feature as well as a regular seat, but you can not have them both at the same time. You will have to spend a good 10 minutes removing the bassinet fabric from the frame and tugging seat fabric back onto the frame to convert it from one to the other. Additionally, you have to remove the seat/bassinet from the frame in order to collapse the stroller. This leaves you with 2 very large and awkward pieces that need to be stored in your car in between uses. NIGHTMARE!! If you live in the city and plan on keeping the stroller assembled 100% of the time...this stoller might be ok...that is if you are looking for no bells or whistles (other than the logo on the canopy). However, if you live in the burbs and think this is going to work for everyday shopping expeditions when you are in and out of your car multiple times...you are sadly mistaken. If this is your intended use for a stroller and you buy the bugaboo anyway, I promise you that you WILL buy a second, more practical, stoller within a month of your purchase. If that is okay with you...go for it. I now admit that I bought this stoller because it was THE Stroller to have in terms of name brand. I see now that I was an idiot and hope that I can help just one person to save their $800+ and spend it on ANYTHING else!!! PS - the car seat adapters are an absolute waste of money. They were so unstable and competely inconvenient. What a joke. If you must have the bugaboo...wait until your child is big enough for the seat. I gave this stoller 2 stars because it does do what it says it will do...that just simply isn't enough.

The Best Stroller Ever!!!
Reviewer: Anonymous ,

Date: July 10, 2009
The whole family loves the bugaboo cameleon. My 2 daugters 11 and 12, my sons 4 and 8 and I are havinga lot of fun.Do examine your needs before purschaing. I choose the bugaboo because i wanted a stroller appropriate for a newborn and current medical advice is that young babies should lie flat for extended trips. Our baby has had many naps outside enjoying the fresh air on our deck and as well as many walks. I did not find the removal of the seat to puit in the car problematic. It does take some learning but once you know how to do its fine. One helpful salesperson told me that every white button does something. With regared to the complaints about size of the bottom bag I must say that the cameleon does have a larger bag than the frog and i have always just downsized my diaper bag things to accommodate it. How much storage do you really need?? We love the bugaboo cameleon and would highly recommend it.

The best $1000 ever spent. As an infant, our son slept in the bassinet as his bed for 4 months before we bought him a crib. The stroller is very solid and well built. My son preferred to take his nap in his stroller until 18months! Now at 3 1/2 he still loves riding in it for our nightly walks. $1000 stretched over 4 years...not bad! Most of my friends who did not buy a bugaboo have already gone through 3-4 "cheaper" standard strollers for the same price! I say my bet is on the bugaboo

Needs Some Improvements
Reviewer: Anonymous ,
Tarrytown, NY
Date: May 18, 2009
First of all, unless you live in the city I recommend using the snap-n-go for the 1st few months. The bassinet is too large to keep taking in and out of the trunk. Also, it's nice to keep an infant in a carseat so you dont wake them up while transfering them to and from the stroller. Plus the snap-n-go is amazing for the price. I've been using the Bugaboo for over a year and overall I do like it but I have to say I think it could use some improvements. I will list both the positive and negative in hopes that the company can make some changes and buyers can make an educated choice. Good Luck! Pros: 1) It's so pretty. 2) I cannot imagine an easier ride. I've taken this stroller up and down stairs, on the grass and on the beach. You cannot ask for a better ride. Cons: 1) Cup Holder! This is a big complaint. I really dont like how the cup holder sticks out further than the wheels. Im always taking it off to fit through places or hitting it up against doorways. 2) Another big complaint is the sun canopy. It has no structure to keep it in place and it doesnt come down far enough on sunny days. My poor baby always has the sun in her eyes. 3) The storage basket is so small it doesnt hold much more than the rain cover and a blanket.

All up the best on the market.

As a Nanny I've had a chance to road test more prams than I can count on my fingers and toes even buying a couple of my own. The bugaboo has to be by far the best one I've used. It would be the pram I would buy when I eventually have a child.
It is very easy to use and amazingly easy to clean which is a bonus as a pet hate is to clean the pram every 2 days! Master 5 months LOVES his ride getting not only comments about his good looks but his very hansom set of wheels!
I've yet to get it into any car but just by the size of it can't imagine it being all that easy. The cons I've come across are
-The basket is too small but ascetically the perfect size.
-The front bar is quite difficult to come out but easy enough to just not use it.
-The safety strap could be that 2 inches longer so I could reach pedestrian crossing lights without taking it off becoming a safety issue.
All up the least amount of cons I've had with any pram I've ever used. You really should look into making a side by side twin pram.

I chose the
Denim Bugaboo Cameleon and i really love it! Its stylish and really comfortable! One thing that bothers me is that the front wheels are small and dont go over raised sidewalks on the street very well. Also lately my brakes are not stopping the carriage ....I hope the customer service is great..but to all those that want something easy to wheel this is your carriage!
Comments from The Staff:
Thank you for your comments. The 6" front wheels can be replace with the Bugaboo Snow Wheels. They are a heavier tread wheel, but they do not swivel. Take a look and see what you think and please give us a call if you have any questions 800-573-4452

Worth The Price!!!
Reviewer: Anonymous ,
Forest Hill, MD
Date: November 25, 2008
Although this stroller is an investment....it's worth every penny! It's the nicest stroller we have ever owned (purchased it for our 7th child) and wished we had gotten it years ago for our other children. We purchased the sand on sand fabric option and have gotten tons of compliments on our stroller. We can't wait to add to our color collection. The stroller was not too complicated to assemble and even though it needs to come apart to fold - it takes only seconds once you get the hang of it. It pushes on a dime and can easily be pushed with one hand. The only problem we've found so far is the storage basket is not easily accessable when using the bassinet.
We wouldn't hesitate to purchase this stroller again!

Bugaboo Cameleon stroller - Love my Bugaboo!
Reviewer: Anonymous ,
Boston, MA
Date: August 12, 2008
We couldn't be happier with our new Bugaboo Cameleon stroller. We live in the city and I think I look for reasons to go for a walk with the stroller. The price is high but worth the money. When you put the price of our MacLaren, Peg Perego, and the carseat stroller together we would have been better just buying this from the start. It isn't too difficult to take apart but obviously not as easy as some strollers and it does take up a lot of room in the car but it is worth it. If you are willing to put in a little more effort it is worth the time taking it apart and putting it together. It is probably worth it to have an umbrella stroller but I wouldn't have spent the money on the Maclaren XLR if we had bought this first. We use an umbrella if we know we are going to have to be somewhere where it would be easier to fold up the stroller, such as on the subway or other tight places. We've used the Bugaboo it at the beach and look forward to trying it out in the snow this year. My son is only 4 months but he is already out of the bassinet and loves being in his stroller. Accessories are reasonably priced. Great purchase!

He loves it, especially when the he can see the baby when he's facing to us. I wish I have bought it when my son was much younger.

There is no remorse for the amount of money I paid for this stroller...It has been worth every penny.
My newborn can handle a day full of activities outside the house since all he does is sleep inside his comfy bassinet. And when my 2 year-old gets tired of walking/running around he jumps on his "skateboard"--the toddler [wheeled] board--and rides along with his brother.

First off, I love the look and lightness of the stroller. It handles beautifully, but I hate that you have to take the seat off in order to break it down. It takes up a lot of space in the car that way. I've also flown several times alone with the baby and it makes it difficult to hold the baby and break the stroller down alone. The bar that goes across the seat is also a little difficult to remove, and you can't do it with one hand. When the baby falls asleep in my arms while out, it's impossible to put him in the stroller if the bar is in place.

Reviewer: Vicky , Melbourne, Victoria
About both the 4th position and the clear plastic window in the canopy.
I also agree with the oter reveiw that the harness straps do not fit properly, my son is 5 months old and they are still too high by a few inches. I feel that I can not lay my seat in the 1st postion because with out the harness if he was to push up, he may fall out the back. its quite upsetting.
I also want to know is there a better place to put the cup holder than on the upper outside? because some time I have to remove the cupholder in stores to get through isles in stores.
I would also love a holder for items like my cell phone, money, and ID. and I would love to see a larger bag below - I'm a mommy of 3 and even though my older two children are 11 & 6. I still have a lot to carry. I always like to carry the rain cover and sun cover BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW) and then there are diapers and I always have sweatshirts for my kids. A bigger bag would be such a plus
OVER ALL I LOVE MY BUGABOO AND SO DOES MY SON, I do think that it needs some tweeking though.
I do however wish I new that the model was changing because I did purchse my stroller before I delivered and didn't use it right away because my carseat wasn't compatable. So I would have waited and either bought the new the model or took advantage of the discount.
By the way I heve the grey base with the orange denier and I ordered the new blue sun canopy and the new blue footmuff. I love the orange and hope I love it with the blue (i'm still waiting for it to arrive. if not I will just have to order a new sun canopy I guess, but will keep the foot muff though because its pricer
I leave more on the color when I can see it all together

If you're going for some of the more unusual colors - watch out: in reality, they are very different from how they appear on your screen. At least on mine. I ordered the blue base and orange top color for the Cameleon and was shocked when they arrived. The blue is *much* lighter than expected, and the orange - somewhat darker, but more "intense". Although the combination looked fun online, it definitely does not look good in person. Since BugabooStrollers won't pay for return shipping (and returning the blue base with everything that goes with it is will cost a fortune) I am now stuck with a bad color combination or the option to spend another $100 on a blue top color/ canopy that at least matches the base. (Which, by the way, I don't think is possible to buy on this web site - it requires me to select a base if I want to order a top color.)
A stroller that sells for $720-900 should definitely have a better return policy and more customer-friendly customer service!!
Comments from The Staff:
Thank you for your comments. We are pleased to offer a wide variety of colors of tailored fabrics in both fleece and canvas for the Cameleon, and it is unfortunate that you are not happy with your color selection. One important point in online shopping is to note that monitor resolution and quality can and does vary which can prove to be challenging in an online shopping experience. You have 30 days to return your order, should you choose to do so.
Tailored Fabrics are available in a number of other colors to change up the look of your Cameleon. If you are concerned about the colors matching, please inquire about Return Shipping Insurance when placing your order.
Thanks!

Stylish Ride
Reviewer: Almira's Dad ,

Date: May 07, 2008
We got the Cameleon as a baby shower gift from my generous inlaws. I was surprised at the cost of the Bugaboo but it matches its look...expensive. We have used all the seating options in the past 9 months from car seat (adapter for Peg Perego Primo Viaggio - a hassle), bassinet (a must have) to seat, which she loves. It's sitting in First Class. Additional must haves are footmuff for cold days & cup holder. Gripe w/cup holder if placed on outside tends to hit things when walking in tight spaces ie: store aisles. Have yet to use the transport bag as no flights yet but it's BIG. Want sun canopy next. All fleece fabric in Orange so it stands out.
With it's modern tubular design and color it gets noticed. Pros: Very light weight, easy to maneuver, stylish. Cons: Stroller takes space in trunk especially seat. Unfolding does take some getting use to. Lately notice right Starlock a bit loose. Even when new I would think the handle/starlock would feel more solid/stiff as there was some play. Perhaps design to release stress?

Not what I was expecting for the money
Reviewer: Sara ,

This was a present from my parents and I feel bad because I hate this stroller! It looks great, but it's very cumbersome. Ours has a hard time fliping open (not like the demo video, it's meant to take seconds). My husband has to deal with wrestling with it in a car park or in the city after getting out of a cab, in the meantime all the contents of the storage compartment fly all over the place making everything dirty. Maybe ours is faulty.
Then, the sun canopy doesn't look smooth like everyone elses. Ours is all floppy and slack at the back. It doesn't come forward enough to shield the sun from him in the bassinet and the sun goes in his eyes.

Cameleon Bugaboo Review
Reviewer: Anonymous ,
Granada Hills, CA
Date: April 01, 2008
I am a first time mom, and overall my husband and I do like the stroller and all its features. My 6-month old son is very confortable in it. The only problem that we have found is that the stroller has developed a lopsided pull to the left. We can't figure out how this happened or how to fix this problem. It is very frustrating to have paid for a highly priced stroller that won't push straight.
Comments from The Staff:
Thank you for the review. I recommend contacting Bugaboo directly as each stroller comes with a 2 year warranty. Bugaboo customer service can be reached at serviceus@bugaboo.com or 1.800.460.2922. Thanks!

SO Worth the $$$!
Reviewer: Anonymous ,

So, nobody REALLY wants to spend nearly $1000 on a stroller....but the bugaboo is truly worth the price. It is well constructed, easy to lift, simple to interchange components (adapter/bassinet), and rides well. I looked at several strollers prior to purchasing the bugaboo, and nothing compares. I frequently take my baby on long walks (3 to 4 miles), and I am convince that no other stroller would hold up. The bassinet also is great to use as a bed when you are visiting relatives. It is a great product.

Great quality pram/stroller

So far we're very glad we went for the Bugaboo Cameleon and all its great accessories. Our son is 13 months and even now in the stroller seat he still naps an average of 2 hrs in it. So fun to do all my grocery shopping and more, the basket below may not look big but its really amazing what it can hold, and I do not have to ask for any plastic bags! It's easy to manoevre and since I'm 5"9 its great that the handlebar is adjustable! The accessories are well-made and in our bitter cold winter or hot summer weather, I'm assured he is very comfortable in it. Daily I get many compliments which is funny, its bright orange (the national color of the Netherlands, where its designed and since I'm Dutch, the color was a no-brainer ;-) Often I'm stopped by parents-to-be and I'm always glad to give info and a little demo. It may be a bit more money than the usual strollers out there but so worth it! Job done well, my sincere compliments to your team of designers!

Great for walks, not for in and out of the vehicle
Reviewer: Anonymous ,
Phoenix, AZ
Date: December 29, 2007
My husband bought this stroller for me when our son was 5 months old so I haven't been able to use the bassinet. We live in Phoenix, so my husband bought the canopy with ventilation in it and my son doesn't get too hot in the summer. He seems very comfortable in the stroller and likes exercising with mommy and going on walks. I really wanted a jogging stroller with a swivel wheel because I participate in StrollerFit with my son two to three times per week so this stroller isn't great for that. I wish my hubby would have consulted me before buying such an expensive stroller that didn't really fit my needs.
Pros:
comfortable for baby,
easy to push and turn,
shocks make for a great ride on uneven surfaces.
Cons:
no cupholder - has to be purchased separately,
bottom basket is barely large enough to hold my workout mat and sippy cup and snacks for my son,
it's a pain to get in and out of my Pathfinder two to three times per week since I have to take the seat off every time I put it in the SUV,
the stroller takes up so much room in the back on my SUV that it is very difficult to go grocery shopping with it,
no snack/drink tray for baby - this wasn't such an issue when my son was younger, but now that he is one year old, he likes to eat A LOT and there is no place for him to have a snack.
Overall, I do like this stroller. It is good for shopping at the mall and walks in the neighborhood. I think I am going to bite the bullet and spend ANOTHER $400 on a BOB Revolution and accessories so I can jog with it.

Love my stroller, but have some questions
Reviewer: Vickie ,

Date: December 16, 2007
I absolutely love my Cameleon stroller, it is so easy to maneuver and once you get the hang of it, it's easy to fold and unfold. It's especially good for Montreal winters as it protects our little one from the wind and snow. But I have some questions...If I have another baby, can it be changed back into a bassinet? And,if I buy the travel bag, can the bassinet fit inside as-is?
Comments from The Staff:
Glad to hear that you are enjoying your Bugaboo! You can change from the seat to the bassinet at anytime. The travel bag will accomodate the bassinet as well as the frame, wheels, and seat. Hope this answers your questions. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review!

I'm Happy
Reviewer: Isabel's Mom ,
San Jose, CA
Date: December 06, 2007
This being my first child I had registered for a Chicco travel system and for not knowing anything about strollers. I was pretty happy with the stroller system until I started doing a lot of research on strollers, especially high end strollers like the Bugaboo and Peg Perego. I was disappointed with my research on the Peg Peregos and after testing them out in the stores, I found them to be poorly constructed and too flimsy. Too much hype. I then really decided to go for the best in the Bugaboo line and bought the Cameleon. I was happy with the Frog but unfortunately, I'm 5'1 so an adjustable handlebar was a must. I was really amazed at the handling and the smoothness of the Cameleon. I found that the Graco car seat adapter to be easy to use and I disagree with other reviewers on the difficulty of using it with the Graco Safeseat. I have a Safeseat and it works great! I must say, the downside to the Bugaboo is that you have to practice a few times with all the components. A few times I was doing it wrong and thought I broke it! Very traumatic especially when you spend so much money on such a stroller. I am overall REALLY happy with how interchangeable the colors are and the customization is fantastic. It's definetely an investment for any future children we plan to have!
The cup holder is pretty heavy duty but it's a little tricky when you're folding the stroller with it on.
Just takes practice but other than that, it's great!

A Great Pram?
Reviewer: Alisha Russell ,
Sydney,Australia
Date: September 08, 2007
We purchase the pram before our son was born, as the pram was light weight, great colour combinations, easy to use, smaller then alot of my friend prams-meaning that i could fit through places where my friends could not and lot more.
We also purchase all of the assessories to go with the pram.
We have now had the pram for 9 months and are very happy with our purchase.
The problem we have found are
-you can not jog with the pram (if you do you will have alot of problems with the front wheel falling off)
-the nappy bag is to small to fit anything in it meaning the volume of the bag is to small
-the basket underneath the stroller is only got to hold toy and blanket nothing else.
Every other accessory is great the sun capy great for the beach and park and the UV protective cover tis great, the sleeping bag is great the snow and very easy to wash.
All in all my friends wish they had purchased on for themselves the reason they did not was just the price.
But the price is well worth the investment of a good quality pram.

we own the cameleon and i have many complaints. only up until recently has our daughter (4 months now) felt comfortable in the bassinet (due to her gain in weight). i believe that for the first few months she was just too small and didnt feel safe while we took walks. the ride is smooth but going over large bumps had her arms fly to each side every time. two, the bugy is NOT easy to fold and store. mind you i am used to the preg preggo standards and miss them dearly. a one handed easy fold is optimum when ridding the train or catching a cab! sure, its a nice status symbol but if practicality is more important i would try the bee...or even another manufacture all together.

More hype than greatness

I have been using the Cameleon for almost a year now. It has been just average considering the price point for the following reasons. 1.Because it is 2 pieces it is cumbersome to fold up and put in the car. I find that when I fold down the carriage part of the stroller everything falls out of the storage compartment and this is a problem because it is usually after a shopping trip in a parking lot, then I find myself crawling under the car to retrieve the lost contents. 2.It really was tricky to learn to use & fold not good for a sleep deprived new Mom. 3.I drive a BMW X3, which is a bit limited on interior space and this stroller does not leave room for any other cargo when placed in the back of the car.
Lastly, my stroller has developed a lopsided pull to the left. I can't figure out how to fix this and I'm getting sick of battling with it. It's kind of like an annoying shopping cart that wont push straight.
I have migrated to a BOB revolution, which I LOVE because it does not have any of the problems stated above and is really great to take on trails too. I have relegated the Cameleon to the hall closet for the time being until the alignment issue gets resolved.
Comments from The Staff:
I have contacted the manufacturer regarding the alignment problems you are experiencing. Please see their response below.

Great, overall
Reviewer: Brian ,

The Cameleon came in 2 boxes, and overall, it was generally easy to construct. There were a few false starts (bassinet installed backwards for example) but armed with the instructions, I got the whole thing put together. Some diagrams and pictures were overly involved, and others could have been included. As far as features go, the glide of the wheels is great, changing the configuration of the device is really easy, and it looks as if it will last a long time.

Bugaboo Chameleon stroller

We bought this stroller in May, been using it for 3 months now. We used only bassinet part so far and we are absolutely delighted with it. Baby can sleep in it for hours . Very easy to walk, even on uneven streets, up and down the hill. It is easy to fold and put in the car. We nave a wagon so there is no problem with space. I do not understand why people had troubles with assembling it - it is really easy.
The climate here is very hot, but the fleece canopy keeps the stroller comfortable for the baby.
The stroller is light enough for me (I'm 100 lbs) and I think it's worth every penny we spent on it.

We wouldn't be without it as it is so easy to maneuver, easy to put into the car and the bassinet has been used as his bed when we travel or at family. Only difficulty I have had is that when the bassinet is being used it is very difficult to get into the bag underneath and when changing it into the stroller I struggled with the side straps to connect to the frame as these were very tight (it needed two of us to do so with difficulty). Also the stroller seat is very deep and you can't use this for a small baby who doesn't want to lie down. We also brought the travel bag which has been fantastic when flying and I would recommend this for any family that will be traveling on planes etc. All in all, would highly recommend and it is worth the extra money!!

Bugaboo Stroller was received in perfect condition. Assembly instructions are easy to follow. I do recommend that you watch the video first. The only difficult part in the assembly is getting the wheels to pop out. After watching the video I realized how important it is to follow the instructions as printed use your foot to pop the wheels out in the correct position. Everything else was great. We bought this for our first grandchild as I am looking forward to being able to use it.

Versatile & Sturdy

My husband and I got the Cameleon before our son arrived. It was a wonderful gift. The bassinet was our son's favorite place to sleep and it worked perfectly with our infant car seat. When we transitioned to the stroller seat, he was thrilled. The ability to reverse his seating position and fully recline has saved us in many situations. It has served as a high chair in restaurants when none are available and when visiting family. The reversible handle position makes it easy to switch on the fly. The storage area below holds so much stuff it's actually good for a grocery run.
We have outfitted it with the footmuff for cold weather and the parasol for sunny days. There are numerous other accessories as well. Now with the new cupholders, it's a dream. The ride is smooth and stable. It's a large stroller, but I am able to collapse it with one hand and get into the trunk. I traveled with it recently and despite its size and weight, I was happy to have it, rather than opting to leave it or get a smaller stroller.
It's pricey, but it will be the one and only stroller we have.
Buy it once and buy it right.
I only wish it wasn't so darned popular!

We love it. We used the bassinet for the baby to sleep in for the first 3 months so we could keep her in our room. The stroller itself is easy to assemble and use. Also, it's the best looking stroller out there. And, our baby seems very comfortable in it. Only, negative might be that the fleece tailoring is a bit warm for the summer months.

She is now nine months and will only go in this stroller. I bought a jogging stroller because I was going away and I didnt want to ruin my bugaboo cameleon and she was not happy to be in another stroller. The bugaboo supports her. The best stroller on the market. Love it!

Overall a little dissappointed
Reviewer: Vicky ,
Melbourne, Victoria
Date: April 06, 2007
I am a 1st time mother and I purchased this pram based on recommendations of a retailer. It was appealing because:
-It was light - l am a small frame
-It had a bassinett and stroller seat.
-It was attractive
After using it there are a couple of things l would want changed about it. They are:
-A 4th elevation position (between the flat and middle one ie 20-30 deg) - my son no longer wanted to lay in the bassinett by 3 months. He had good control and wanted to sit up and see the world. In short, the middle elevation was too upright for him at such a young age and the flat position had his legs above his head which he didn't like often causing him to vomit.
-another position for the straps on the stroller seat to allow a baby less than 6 months to sit in it. Even at 5 months of age now his head still sits slightly below the top of the straps.
-a window at the top of the canopy to view your baby when he is forward facing. Most prams have this and l was dissappointed to later find the Bugaboo didn't offer this.
Due to these things l didn't like my son falling asleep in the pram on the middle elevation level in the stroller seat because his head would flop forward with no support.
I would consider the pram to be perfect if it wasn't for some of the practical limitations l encountered with my son.
Comments from The Staff:
Hi there! Thank you for your review! I just wanted to tell you that the bassinet is not to be adjusted, the adjustment is for the seat only, and that is why there are only 3 different positions. Bugaboo does have a dark grey seat with a longer seat strap, but since this is a new model, you can purchase the straps separately by contacting Bugaboo directly. Also, Bugaboo does make the Breezy Sun Canopy for the Cameleon stroller, and that does have a mesh window where you can see the child. Thank you for the feedback!
Lindsey
Additional Comments From Customer:
I recently reviewed the Bugaboo stroller (Reviewer: Vicky, Melbourne,
Victoria | Date: April 06, 2007) I believe that you mis-understood my comments regarding the angle rotation. What I meant was that my son Jake no longer wanted to be in the bassinet so we re configured the pram to become a stroller/seat. Now, the positions that the seat locks into seems to be a little uncomfortable for a young baby, so what I was suggesting is that the pram would be better if it had another locking position between the flat and first angled position. The second point was regarding a window within the canopy where you suggested the Breezy Sun Canopy. This would be inconvenient as we are coming into our winter and it would be too cold for that lighter canopy. I would suggest a window with some clear plastic like other pram canopies. Is there any chance to include these comments within my review as your reply mis-represent my issues.
Comments from The Staff:
Thanks for your additional comments, Vicky, I'll certainly include these additional comments with your review.

I love this stroller. We live in an apartment and I wanted to buy the least amount of baby gear as possible, so I needed a stroller that would serve many functions. We used the pram as a bassinet for 2 months in our bedroom (bonus - you can wheel a sleeping baby easily around the house). I also use the pram for walks. I have the Graco car seat adapter which is great because you don't have to buy a Snap 'N' Go with plastic wheels (I don't have one but I've been told it's a nightmare to use anywhere except on the smooth floors of a mall). I just bought the parasol and carrying case, too. One down side is you do need to buy several of the accessories which brings up the cost. The parasol at a minimum is a must or you will constantly be moving your body around to shade the baby's eyes. The car seat adapter and carrying case are necessary, too. I don't understand the obsession with the cup holder since you can just put a bottle of water in the bag underneath, but many people feel it is a necessity. The other downside is that we had to return several parts several times because of manufacturing defects. However, this web site had excellent customer service and once we received working parts, the stroller worked beautifully.

I have the cameleon. It looks great, turns on a dime, but it has not cup holder. Valco baby has a cup holder that is compatible to the stroller. although i can live without the cupholder, my problem is loading it into the car. I have to take everything out of the stroller and put on the floor because you have to take the seat off the chasis before you can fold the stroller and put in trunk. than pick up your stuff off the ground so they dont get stuck way at the back of the trunk. I wish it all folded in one, then and only then will it be perfect.

This my friends is the Bently of strollers. However, with all good things comes disappointment. Overall a great stroller fabulous design, fantastic style. The bassinet is very practical it can be used as a bed and a discrete changing table. subsequently however, the basket underneath the bassinet is useless when using this feature. It is almost impossible to use. I have all of the bugaboo accessories love most of them. The unbrella is a must, the diaperbags are way to small. They can only fit diapers. Believe me when I tell you, you need much more than that. The stroller is amazingly easy to maneuver with one hand is not a problem. It's suspension is unbeievable, it is designed to take the bumps in the frame rather the carriage. I strongly recomend it to all.My biggest complaint would be there is not a cup holder, nor is one available. Can not understand for the life of me why.Being a nursing mother I (we mothers) need to be hydrated at all times therefore cup holders a necessity. Again fabulous stroller. I am the talk of the playground when rolling up with the Bugaboo. So its not perfect. What is? Would I buy this stroller all over again knowing its imperfections? Yes!!!!!

Reviewer: erin clark ,

Our baby lives in this stroller. As a busy NYC mom/baby we are constantly on the go. She eats, sleeps and plays in this carriage. We chose it for its city friendly wheels and easy manuverabilty, plus the groovy color options. The handle bar extends making it ideal for tall people with long legs. And the under seat storage is quite commodius! She can face me for lots of games and singing. I also like the rain bonnet, she is quite dry and cozy when it is used. Also, it washes really well. Drawbacks are: the wheel base is too wide for narrow aisles in markets, some retail stores and most restaurants. We've been stuck more than once. It is not easily collapsed for travel and it is a bit heavy, too. But, it is definately worth the bucks for strolling around town.

I got what I was looking for... but
Reviewer: Anonymous ,

I take long walks everyday and I wanted a smooth riding stroller for my son. Joggers fit the bill but they seemed too big for my 5'3'' frame. After about 40 hours of research, I decided to get a Bugaboo Cameleon. It's smooth riding and my son loves it. The adjustable suspension and the height adjustable reverable handle bar are really nice. The seat seems very comfortable and it's very easy to use the harness system unlike some other strollers. Plus, it's beautiful - I got dark grey base with red fabric. Overall I've been pretty happy except for a few things.
The handle bar isn't ergonomically designed and my hands start to hurt after while. Also it's bigger and bulkier than I expected, so carrying it up the stairs is out of the question. And because it's heavy, I found it difficult to maneuver it when going uphill. I almost wish they made Cameleon in the Gecko's size or kept the Frog.....
I don't recommend this for mall pushers or for running errands with a car, etc.
If I could do it again, I'll probably get a Gecko. True, it's not as versatile. But it'll be just as comfortable ride for the baby and YOU.
Must have - Footmuff

Form and Function in One
Reviewer: Anonymous ,
Durham, NC
Date: January 13, 2006
One can't help but look twice at a Bugaboo stroller. It looks like no other stroller out there, with its clean, minimalist lines, yet it is functional and incredibly easy to push. The adjustable handlebar is a requirement if parents are two very different heights, and the reversible seat is a nice feature. The underseat bag holds more than it looks (and has a drawstring closure), and the stroller turns on a dime (with one hand, no less). It's also easier to fold and unfold than it might seem at first, though it takes some practice to do it efficiently (the seat comes off from the frame before you fold both).
And, the ability to choose the fabric color that you like is awfully nice.
I haven't had trouble navigating stores, though occasionally I get the rear (larger, stationary one) caught on the corner of a wall because that axel is wider than the front.
Is the Cameleon worth the money? Probably not. But do I love it? Absolutely.
