Reviews for Valco Tri Mode Twin double stroller
Nice, but Heavy and Bulky

I researched double strollers for my twin sons for months. We thought this one would grow with them very well, which it should, but it is very heavy to contend with. I am 5'9 and I have a really hard time getting the stroller in and out of the car. Furthermore, as other reviewers have pointed out the sun shade issue is a problem during sunny days. Although it maneuvers like a dream and is a Cadillac for the kids, it is just too difficult for the mom to take in and out of the car. I am selling ours and got the Bob Revolution Double stroller instead because it gives just as good a ride, is comfortable, but muuuuuch lighter. The Bob Rev. is not as plush and fancy as the Valco, but I find it to be more functional for day to day activities that require taking it in and out of the car.

After much and I do mean MUCH research, we purchased the twin runabout. We have had it for a year. I have a 6,4 and 1 year old. It works well for all three. We bought the third seat attachment and love it. It is the only way I was able to get out of the house and exercise with all three. It seems to be holding up well. It's gotten a ton of use this past year, and I have no complaints. It pushes like a dream. When we have the third seat on, it is a bit heavy, but still much nicer than pushing the standard double stroller we used to have. All in all, I am very pleased with it. It was worth the $$.

The Best...only if....

I've had the Twin Tri Mode Double jogger for about 2 months and for the most part, it has been worth the money. It definitely scores high in the appearance department. I've had lots of compliments and inquiries. The ride is very smooth with the help of the great suspension system and the robust tires. I especially like the fact that the wheels have 3 modes of locking which makes maneuverability easy no matter if you're walking, jogging or off-roading. Despite my overall satisfaction with the product, I do however have two complaints: (1) the fabric used could be more durable. I'm worried about how long it will last the wear and tear of two kids (2) I can't stand the bar that bi-sects the bottom basket. Other reviewers talk about how much storage space it has but they fail to mention that the main storage compartment underneath the stroller is not easily accessible due to the part of the frame that prevents one from storing larger baby bags or other larger items. To deal with this "problem", I have had to resort to using smaller baby bags and avoid storing larger items beneath.

I have come to love this stroller!

When I first received this stroller five months ago, I was disappointed. It is heavy and hard to fold shut. However, after a week or two of using it, I learned to fold it pretty quickly. (I guess I just had to get used to it). What I LOVE about this stroller is that it fits in the trunk of my little 2005 Honda Civic with the wheels on!!!! It is a breeze to push and my 2 year old and 5 month old fit in it nicely. The seat backs are high enough even for a tall toddler. When one of my children get out of the stroller it remains stable. The infant car seat adapter is also a great feature. Plus, I get so many compliments on how the stroller looks. (I have Harlequin Black).
The only complaint I have is that while shopping, I can't fit in the small aisles between the clothes racks; only the main aisles. However, this is the case with any side-by-side. For quick in-and-out shopping I have the Eddie Bauer Transit Tandem.
If you are a person who takes long walks or jogs, this is the stroller for you and will be worth every penny.

I love this stroller

After much research and the live advice, I decided to purchase the Valco Twin for my twins. My 3 year old likes to take walks and I wanted to get a stroller that not only was easy to maneuver but had plenty of storage for all the stuff that you have to take everywhere you go. This stroller has it all. It is a bit heavy and awkward when trying to fold it and put it back in the car, but once both of the girls are in it, it's great. I was reluctant to spend the money, but it is worth every penny. The stroller has now become the "go anywhere" stroller...walks, beach, camping, hiking, and shopping.

I bought this stroller after doing a lot of research. When I received it, the box was broken, and re-taped (unit ok, ex for a few scratches). FedEx could have been more careful. Assembly directions could be better, and I still can't figure out how to fully connect the bags in the back. This is a great stroller for walking, jogging, and it fits through the front door easily. I like how it handles, LOVE the storage, and it glides easily. My 2 yr old and 5 mo old can ride comfortably side by side. It?s a little big (not unlike any other side by side) I still have to figure out how it will fit in my mid-size SUV. My real complaint is the harness system, it's very difficult to use. The strap adjustment is difficult, and the clasp is way too over engineered. It doesn't have to be this complicated. One strap you have to push down (really hard ? it takes a few tries) to release the strap and the other strap you don?t. Also, for a stroller this price, it should also come with an attachment for the snacks and sippy cup. I bought the attachment, but it does make getting in and out more difficult. I also bought the sunshade attachment, although I had not had to use it. It?s a bit on the heavy side, but I didn't see one that wasn't.

Worth Every Penny!

After doing many hours of research, this was the only stroller that could accommodate newborn twins and a toddler just starting to walk (Yes, I have Irish triplets!) . I refused to purchase a triple, because once my toddler started walking, I would have a triple with an unused seat! With the additional toddler seat, I can remove it when she doesn't want to use it. We get stopped everywhere we go. People love the little toddler seat. My little princess doesn't mind the attention either. It's like she's on her own parade float.
This stroller is a DREAM to push! With all three strapped in, it glides everywhere we go. We go walking/jogging 3-5 miles everyday and all the kids enjoy the smooth ride. Living in Hawaii, I have the same complaint as the others...no floating sunshade. I have gotten creative with some material and clips to keep the twins comfortable. My toddler doesn't seem to mind being in the elements especially since I douse her with sunscreen and equip her with a hat and sunglasses. I've considered purchasing the toddler seat hood, but since it doesn't float either, it wouldn't do much good. Also, since I'm only 5'2", it probably would hinder my view and be a potential safety hazard.
Overall, it has been one of the smartest purchases I have ever made! Having 3 children under 2, I needed a stroller that was easy to maneuver, comfortable and functional. This stroller fit the bill!

Good-- But BIG!!!
Reviewer: Joe and Ben's Mom , New York, NY

I recently got the Valco Runabout Twin for my seven-month old twins; before purchasing, I looked at the dimensions and it seemed as though the stroller would be smaller and more compact than comparable strollers like the Mountain Buggy. But make no mistake: this stroller is HUGE. The kickplate in front makes it seem particularly enormous and while yes, it is narrow enough to fit through standard doorways and along aisles, it is still a substantial size. I haven't even attempted to fold it; I think if I have to go anywhere, I'll put my double umbrella stroller in the car rather than try to figure out folding this thing up... But I've had no problems with the sunshield, or the rain cover-- once you figure out how to put them on once, it's really easy. And I cannot get over how much storage there is; we've gotten rid of the old bulky diaper bag we used to sling over the handle bars. A great purchase if you can afford to leave it unfolded or if you live in the city and need something to handle both pavement and park.

Great for the active family

I bought this stroller in April and wanted to use it a few months before commenting. I have a 22 month old and a 2 month old and wanted to try and avoid buying 2 additional strollers. I already have 3 from my first daughter. So I figured I would get this one expensive stroller instead of buying a Graco double, and a double Bob jogging stroller. At first, it was hard to put together and did not come with instructions on how to adjust the head rest and shoulder straps. I couldn't find the tire pump...but found it today. :0) I purchased the Graco car seat adapter, which also didn't come with instructions on how to install it...we think we have it right though?? The sun canopies are on the short side, but I made an extension for it by sewing some fabric to a plastic piece and some velcro. Even with these complaints this stroller is great. I wanted a double stroller that was side by side seating so that the baby could actually see the world as we walked through it. Not sitting behind (or under) her sister, looking at the back of her head. I use it for mall shopping, walking the block and short jogs. We went to a triathlon today and all of the sporty mom's were asking about it. I even used the end of it as a seat to nurse my daughter while we are at the event. It is an expensive item...but worth every penny!!
