After months of consideration, we finally purchased the Valco Runabout double. My boys are 22 months apart and I predict we will be using this stroller for the next 2-3 years at least! It has plenty of room for both boys and space for all of the stuff we need to bring with us to the beach or zoo. The only flaw we've found (but knew about prior to buying it) is it's weight. This puppy is heavy, especially frustrating since we live upstairs and I am constantly having to carry it up and down. On the other hand, I am only 5'2" and 125 pounds and can manhandle it on my own with no problems. It easily fits in the back of my Toyota Prius with plenty of room to spare if I pop off the wheels. We're really happy with the Valco; I can't beleive I've never seen anyone else with one of these great strollers!

Great stroller, and came very fast after being ordered. We use it daily, but I still have not figured out how to fold it (don't really need to.) My twins have used this stroller since they were born (they are 6 months now.) I think the design is much prettier than the Mountain buggy. Only wish: a sun canopy!!!

We have twin 5 month old girls and we use this stroller to go hiking in the mountains of southern California. The stroller works perfectly on the bumpy fire roads. Most importantly the kids love it! They are complete angels while in this stroller, they love looking around and checking everything out.

As stated in a previous review the only remotely negative thing is the lack of a sunshade. Luckily I have a very creative wife that cut a blanket to the perfect size and sewed velcro to the all the right spots. When you spend almost $700 on a stroller it would be nice to have good sunshade included. The only other negative is we have one tire that is slowly losing air and when i tried to pull out the tube and patch the leak it was EXTREMELY difficult. Unfortunately I couldn't find the leak and the we have to pump up the tire every few days. But that gives me a chance to use the really cool on board pump that is included.

As another reviewer noted, this stroller really does need a floating sunshade. Also, I'm not too crazy about how the five-point harness seems very snug on my super skinny two year old. However, if you can afford this stroller, you will not be disappointed. I jog and walk with this in my neighborhood almost daily, and it is a dream to push. It almost pushes itsself. My almost two year old and 4 month old both seem very cozy. My toddler is very tall, and he seems to fit well in the stroller.

Great Stroller!

After much debating between this stroller and the double urban mountain buggy, we purchased this stroller and have had no regrets! It works great shopping and when I go jogging on any terrain. I have an 18 month old and a 2 month old, and both love it! At first I didn't like the appearance of the bottom of the stroller coming out so far, but I greatly enjoy my 18 month old being able and wanting to climb in the stroller by himself. He also actually enjoys riding in it, and stays in it longer then he does with our single Peg stroller. There is plenty of room for both of the children in the stroller, and my 18 month old is pretty big for his age. My husband was upset about the price, but after pushing the stroller for himself, he fell in love with it as well and wouldn't trade it for anything. It turns great when shopping, and can go over rocks without feeling much of a change. I wish the sun canopy came out a little farther, but it is still great. Lots of storage space that is easy to access. Would highly recommend this to anyone!

Valco needs floating sun shade

Reviewer: melissa , Redondo Beach, Ca Date: February 19, 2007
After hours of research we decided to purchase this stroller. We have a 21 month old and a 2 month old. We like the stroller, but we live in Southern California and last weekend was over 80 degrees and very sunny, we had to bring clips and a towel and had to keep adjusting the clips and towels in order to keep the kids out of the hot sun. We went for a very long walk and every time you change direction we had to make adjustments. You spend so much on a stroller and love it but it needs to have a floating sun visor!! Other then this we love the stroller so far. I have not found a sun shade accessory that works with this double stroller yet.

Comments from The Staff:

Hi there! Good point! Hopefully Valco will consider this when they design future models of the Runabout Twin. I've checked out a few of our universal sun shade accessories, but all of them only work on single strollers :(

Quality stroller

I just put together my Valco double stroller and am very impressed. I am expecting my second child (18 months apart) and needed a double stroller that could fit a Graco Infant carseat. I researched every double stroller that could exist on the market and this one has every possible feature. Narrow, yet my hefty 18 month old sits very comfortably on one side and the carseat adapter easily attaches on the other. My only complaint is the instructions can be a bit confusing in explaining the installation of the straps. However, I called Valco and they were very helpful and directed me to an online video for further instructions. Once everything was installed properly, very simple to use.

Valco Twin

I really enjoy this stroller. I love how the wheels swivel making the stroller easy to manuver when out shopping. They lock in place for when I am jogging or off road. I highly recommend buying the snack tray to attach to the bar. My kids love it and one is plenty big for this twin stroller. My only complaint is that the sun shades do not float. My 2 year old doens't mind a little sun, but when my 4 month old is laying flat the sun sometimes blares right in his face. I still really like the stroller!

Fantastic and practical all-terrain stroller!

I am so happy with my purchase of the Valco double stroller. It has all the features I was looking for in a stroller, and I spent a lot of time researching the Internet prior to my purchase. It is easy to fold and fits in the back of our Toyota station wagon; it fits through all the doorways I've tried getting through; it is durable enough to handle off-road terrain and snow while the kids still have a smooth ride; both my 5 month old and 2 year old can lie down if they need to nap; and lots of space to store things underneath, plus great little pockets on the sides and zip-off diaperbags. The aluminum footrest is also great - easy for my 2-year old to climb up into the stroller himself and it is durable and easy to keep clean from his muddy shoes. Handles very well and super easy to push!
