Just what we needed

Reviewer: SingleDad , Warren County, NJ Date: May 12, 2009
I started out with a jogging stroller from another company, after 1 trip in the woods I knew it would not last. I got the BOB SUS just a couple weeks ago and love it, and so does my 7 month old. It goes over rocks and stumps without a problem and feels solid, it doesn't rattle at all, and the shocks work well even with the lil 20 pounder in it. The canopy gives extevensive coverage, and the seat reclines well, my child does not slump. Overall I think this is a safe and well built solid stroller. I have primarily used it offroad and it has even surprised me with the ease it moves over the tough trails.

Fabulous

Reviewer: Gretchen lynch , Fairfax, VA Date: April 11, 2009
I couldn't decide between the Revolution and the SUS, but since the trails near our home go on and off pavement I decided on this because of shock absorption. I LOVE it. I also got the infant adapter as my baby is just one month old. She loves the stroller and I feel she is very safe in there. I don't find it hard to turn, I just lift the back wheels up when I swivel. This stroller is amazing, I can go over curbs without jostling her around. Some people might find it a little big for shopping, but it works okay if you need it for that purpose. Usually I stick her in a baby carrier if we're going shopping. I bought this for running and walking and it lives up to it's purpose and then some.

Good Stroller

5
Reviewer: Greg , Addison, IL Date: August 13, 2008
I should start with a disclaimer... this is the first jogging stroller we've owned. That said, I wouldn't mind this to be the only jogging stroller we'll own. I was a little worried about how jogging with a stroller would affect my training. I even planned on running with my wife again (who runs a bit slower than I do) to compensate for the extra weight of the stroller. Surprisingly, at just a little slower than my normal training pace, my heart rate is about the same as without the stroller. Granted, our little one is only 8 months and just about 20 lbs., but the stroller moves so well and is so smooth that I can hardly tell I'm pushing it. The included sun shield seems to do a pretty good job at keeping the sun off of our little one, but we run mostly on a shaded path, so the sun isn't that much of an issue anyway. B.O.B.'s customer service is fantastic as well. The stroller was delivered without one of the tracking screws. I contacted their customer service and had the tracking screw a few days later. Also, great job by JoggingStroller.com for getting the stroller (and subsequent rain guard) to us lightning quick!

I spent a lot of time comparing jogging strollers. We bought the BOB SUS and love it. You will not be disapointed at all. It tracks great, is easy to turn, compacts nicely, and it jogs and walks great.

I really enjoy this jogging stroller. It is easy to run with and my son loves it. I wish it could be made smaller without taking the wheels off, but I would always tell people to buy this stroller

If ONLY....

Reviewer: Clarissa , NJ Date: January 10, 2008
If only the front wheel could be interchangeable with a swivel wheel, that would be AWESOME. I just bought this particular stroller (SUS) today and I LOVE IT, my baby is 4 months and I also bought the infant car seat adapter and it worked wonderfully, HOWEVER, I did manage to have a bit of a difficult time turning (there are minimal turns on the running path I took), but I was thinking it would be THE BEST OF THE BEST, if the front wheel could be interchangeable to a swivel when needed. THINK ABOUT IT B.O.B people, I would buy it :) Are there any tips out there on how to turn it without stopping my pace running?? Oh and I read on another review that the foam handles was bothersome, I am going to buy some workout gloves so maybe that will help to get a better grip and not get blisters!

Overall great

Reviewer: Stephanie , Salt Lake City, UT Date: November 28, 2007
Overall a great jogging stroller. I rollerblade and run behind it and it has great maneuverability for a fixed front wheel, which I was originally concerned about, but decided to go with fixed because of the price difference. Plenty of clearance for leg movement. Shocks are great. Rear tire break is solid. The safety leash is a must. Two draw backs...Won't fit in my trunk without removing wheels (however, back tires are easy to take on and off) and second, the cable from the front break runs behind the handle bar and is a little annoying.

This is the second jogging stroller I've ordered from you and I couldn't be happier. The strollers are terrific and I couldn't believe how quickly they were delivered. I've already recommended your company to others. Keep up the good work.

Thanks very much Jean, really appreciate the kind words. We're not perfect, but we certainly try hard.

great on bumpy trails

Reviewer: Michelle , Thornwood, NY Date: August 31, 2007
My husband and I love this stroller. We have used it since my son was 4 months old with the Britax car seat. Now he is 8 months and sits in the seat proper. He still isnt comfortable in the seat without a towel rolled to support his head. He sleeps in the stroller with no problem with the towel. We use the stroller for long walks along bumpy off road trails and the suspension is a great advantage to the other strollers we looked at for this purpose. Definitely happy we went with the fixed front wheel for these walks - it makes it easier to push over rocky terrain. We use a lighter weight stroller for errands as the BOB is a bit big to maneuver through shopping aisles.

Okay but some areas of disappointment

Reviewer: Anonymous , NY Date: August 27, 2007
I was originally attracted to the Bob stroller from seeing a mother of two use one in an airport. She told me she had the "jogging" version but after I ordered the Sport Utility, it was clear she must have had the Revolution but still used it off-road as the Sport Utility is big and difficult to travel with. While it is great for jogging, it is not as compact as I would have liked and I realize this is my fault as the dimensions are listed on the web. The front wheel makes it much larger than the revolution. I also hate that it does not lock into position for storage, you need to hook a strap around the moving parts and then store it. I have to refer to the instructions each time to figure out how to do this- frustrating. What would be nice is if the revolution/Sport Utility were interchangeable and you could buy the smaller wheel for traveling etc. I also bought the travel bag for the Sport Utility which was described as a carry on but clearly is not - it is huge just like the stroller.

Perfection - a joy to use!

Reviewer: Diane , Tallahassee, FL Date: August 27, 2007
I researched v. thoroughly before purchasing the BoB SUS. We needed an all-terrain stroller that could handle uneven hiking trails. Something sturdy that would survive being hauled out several times a week, about an hour at a time. At first, I had a tough time narrowing down my options because the various manufacturer/retail sites assume you?re either a mall crawler/city dweller or a jogger. But I wanted something tough, quality, rugged that could handle trails, but at walking pace. If that?s your situation, too, this BoB is for you. It?s awesome! It runs beautifully, is a quality product, and has many well-thought-out design features. First of all, I love the Pacific Blue color! Second, the canopy is huge. I live in Florida, so it?s important to us. This canopy does the job beautifully. I disagree with the reviewers who said it?s not big enough. Any bigger and your kid couldn?t see out! For heavens sake, if you want your child totally covered just buy a separate sun shield. Also love the weather flap. I don?t use the window on top of the canopy like I thought I would, because I can spy on my baby through the weather flap. Folding and unfolding is so easy and, yes, the wheels do pop off very easily as well. We have a small Saturn sedan. We just collapse the BoB, load it part-way into the trunk, pop off the front wheel, then slide it all the way in. No problem. I have it down to a fine art now of about 30 seconds. Unfolding, it just pops open almost like magic! Every time I load or unload it, I rejoice that someone out there put so much thought into the design! The nubby tires are great, but do require pumping sometimes. As other reviewers have said, they run over rough terrain, tree roots, sand, long grass etc. like a dream! The rear foot-operated brake is fantastic. Easy to use ? just kick it on and off - but very tough and secure. Was nervous about the fixed wheel, but it?s no problem. Likewise, the non-height-adjustable handlebar hasn?t been a problem either. The design is such that you can adjust your hold by shifting hands from the top of the handlebar to the sloping sides, for a little variety. So it?s not an issue for me. But, then, I?m 5ft7in and my husband is 5ft9in. I can see why taller folks might not be so comfortable. The basket is very useful. We even put our 18lb Jack Russell Terrier in it a few times when she?d overdone it in the heat. She seemed to enjoy the ride! Drawbacks: this stroller does not support babies well. My 10-month-old sits all slumped in it, although she doesn?t seem to mind. In fact, she loves riding in the BoB and watching the world go by. She usually ends up taking a nap in it too. So it?s not a problem, exactly, but do be aware that they are not kidding when they say this is designed for infants no younger than 9 months. Another thing to be aware of: the harness adjusts easily, but the red harness loops could be a choking hazard. Read more: http://baby411.typepad.com/babybargains/2007/08/is-bob-stroller.html. Suspension squeaks sometimes. A few drops of bike lubricant fixes that. One complaint: I had trouble getting the mudguard attached. We ended up taking the whole thing to our local bike shop. They said one of the screw holes had been drilled incorrectly. They used a smaller screw. Problem solved. But still, that should not have happened! I also found the brake pads tend to rub against the tires. Our bike shop guys said the tires are poor-quality. I also felt that using the handbrake made them stick even more. That annoyed me at first. But it hasn?t been a problem because I never really use the handbrake. If I?m going downhill, I tend to just rely on the wrist tether. But I do think the integration of handbrake/brake pads/wheels are the one thing that needs tweaking. My only other wish would be that it locks when folded. Despite these issues, I still give the BoB SUS five stars. It looks so cool and it?s just a pleasure to use.

BOB SUS Stroller

Reviewer: Anonymous , Springfield, MO Date: July 27, 2007
We are very happy with this purchase. Both my husband and I run 5 or more miles with this stroller. It is sturdy but lightweight, and a comfy ride. The only downside is that it does not fit in my trunk. The front wheel comes off very easily, so it is not that big of a problem. It fits fine in a hatch back or SUV. The knobby tires are nice for trail running or hiking on rougher terrain.

Curvy trails tough; Beach great

3
Reviewer: Melinda , San Francisco, CA Date: March 14, 2007
About us: Got it for running (7-10 minute mile pace, usually 3-6 miles) and walks in neighborhood, on beach, and uneven dirt trails. Started using it (smooth surface only) when baby was 3.5 months old with additional head-support surround.

Pluses for us: obvious high quality workmanship and materials, like an expensive bicycle - you can immediately see the quality difference between this and the target/babies-r-us stock strollers which seem very cheap in comparison. Very smooth ride, so easy to push (only going straight, see minuses). Awesome for walking on uneven, dirt and even rocky(ish) trails and deep sand. Can actually take baby to the beach and shallower trails in the mountains! I assume snow would also be a breeze (there's no snow here). Tracks straight on level surfaces when walking or running.

Minusus / Issues: Turning! Ugh!! I hate turning. I think I should have gotten the swivel wheel, but I shied away thinking swivel would not be stable enough for faster running. But I like to run on slightly hilly, curvy trails (paved), and boy do my wrists and forearms and shoulders hurt! I dread turning it while running. While walking, occasional sharp turns aren't too bad, because you're going slowly enough that you don't mind pushing down on the handle and making a turn (like turning a corner at an intersection in the neighborhood). But constant curvy trails/sidewalks are a real PAIN! Don't even think about taking it to the mall unless you are only going to cruise and not actually maneuver around displays inside stores. Too bulky and hard to turn. Also, handbrake is touchy and doesn't seem to want to engage. I don't trust it. Sun canopy doesn't move down far enough to shield the sun. Still have to use a blanket or something unless the sun is straight overhead or behind you. No cupholders, had to purchase those extra. Front wheel brake seems to graze the front wheel sometimes. I have to keep prying it back open a tad. Maybe this can be adjusted better if I go back to the manual.

So we kept it, even though we're not using it nearly as much as we had hoped - mostly due to lack of maneuverability, but also due to the fact that our baby never really was very good at stroller rides (still isn't now that she's walking) and all the hassle of packing it in the car, driving to the trails, putting the wheels back on, getting all the gear together, just to have baby tolerate it only for 20 minutes max - just becomes too much hassle. But that's no fault of the stroller - just make sure if you purchase an expensive stroller that you have a baby/child that likes to sit in a stroller for a length of time to make it worth it for you.

Bottom line? A great choice if you want to walk on the beach, or run/walk on mostly straight surfaces. If your area is pretty curvy, or you want to use it in the mall, get the swivel wheel kind.

Good luck! Melinda and Rob

I LOVE this stroller. I did tons of research and even bought and returned a Dreamer Design. This stroller is great for running and walking. I ran with it all summer and it was smooth and good on bumps. My 5month old fit fine in it.. the only thing I had to do was put a blanket under him to push his bum up.

Best jogger EVER!!!

5
Reviewer: Anonymous , Columbia, MD Date: November 11, 2006
I am so happy w/ this stroller. I jog about 15 miles a week, and thBOB SUS jogger is such a pleasure to use. I won't go into too much detail because I could go on forever, but I will just say that I have no complaints about this product itself-NONE. BUT...that being said, it kinda stinks to have to buy the cup console separately, but I did it anyway, and it's worth it. I also purchased the weather shield and I highly recommend it. It tends to get pretty windy here in fall/winter, so I wouldn't be able to jog without it. Buy BOB joggers!!! They are the best on the market.

Excellent Jogging Stoller

5
Reviewer: M. Spisso , Savannah, GA Date: August 10, 2006
I have been using this jogging stoller since August of 2005. I run an average of 20 miles a week. It has been wonderful. My daughter was 4 months old when we first put her in it. It took her a few times before she adjusted to the more up right seating position, but in no time I could take her on hour runs. This jogging stroller is also awesome for the beach. The big tires make it easy to push through the sand. I would recommend buying the attachment cup holder caddy to store sippy cups, cell phones, money etc. Hope this review helps.

Perfect Stride

Reviewer: Dan and Keri Brown , Elgin, Illinois Date: June 26, 2006
Our stroller has exceeded all of our expectations from delivery to final use. The stroller arrived quickly, was easy to put together, and strolls perfectly. People have stopped us several times to look at the SUS and ask questions about it. I definitely recommend this product to any person in the market for a jogging stroller. It is a little pricey, but it's worth it.

Best jogging stroller

5
Reviewer: Claire Foster , LA, CA Date: June 26, 2006
This is the best jogging stroller I have found by far and I have seen and talked to lots of mommies. It works with a car seat if you are funning on a flat surface so perfect for infants but it is much lighter and easier to manoeuvre without it! It is robust - the only criticism I would have is that it doesn't fold up very small so you need to have a car with a pretty big trunk.

We got the BOB SUS as a gift and I'm VERY happy with it.

I spent a lot of time playing with these in the stores and the only difference between the SUS, the SUS Deluxe and the Ironman as best as I could tell is the wheels. They all have the same frame, canvas and suspension.

To be honest I'm totally happy with the mag wheels - I don't think a little kid is going to notice any difference and the slightly fatter tires than the Ironman just make it take bumps in the road that much smoother.

My ONLY problem is that I feel like I'm just a little too tall (6'1") for it - the safety strap could be about 3" longer (to keep me from knocking into the stroller when I give it a push) and the handlebar could be about 1" higher. But these are minor details as ultimately I've been happy running as my kid zones out.

My husband bought the BOB SUS for me for christmas. I love it. My son was 3 months old at the time so I just went for walks with him at first. Once he was 6 months old, I started jogging with him. He is well protected from the sun, and seems very comfortable in the stroller. It's very easy to fold up and throw in the back of my car. I jog about 10-15 miles a week with him. The only problem I have with the stroller is making tracking adjustments. My stroller is always pulling slightly towards the right even after several attempts.

We have had this stroller since my son was 4 months old and he loves it, and so do we! Smooth ride, and he is very comfortable. We purchased the fleece insert for winter (in Phoenix we still walk all winter!)and it keeps him comfortable. This was one of the best purchases we made...well worth the $. And this company was excellent to work with...hassle free, quick delivery, everything as promised...

I LOVE my BOB SUS!

5
Reviewer: Anonymous , CA Date: June 24, 2006
I absolutely love my BOB SUS but more importantly, my 7 month old daughter loves it. I bought it when she was only 3 months old and we used it right away! She was a little small for the harness so we didn't go very fast at first. I added some strap pads and that helped support her head until she was older and less wobbly. Joggingstroller.com was so easy to use and I loved that I got to actually talk to a person when I called with a question. The person I spoke to was kind and very helpful. I bought the cup holder accessory and I love that I can zip my keys and phone into the center compartment. The drink holders are deep and secure. One of the reasons I chose the BOB was because of a review that stated the sun shade was "extra generous" and it sure is! I have used my BOB on really bumpy dirt roads, gravel walking paths and the sidewalk. It travels really well over all types of terrain. The seat swings slightly, sort of like a hammock, and my daughter often falls asleep in it. I walk and jog with a baby and three jack russells every single day! I couldn't live without the BOB SUS.

Happy BOB

4
Reviewer: Anonymous , Oak Ridge, TN Date: June 24, 2006
The BOB SUS is a high quality stroller that really suits our needs as active parents who want their child to gain an appreciation of outdoor activity. It is lightweight but durable and does an excellent job of smoothing the bumps while we share the wilder side of life with our daughter. We are able to comfortably take her places we could not in most other strollers, such as down dirt & gravel trails through the woods. It is also great in town on bumpy sidewalks. At 14 months, she now demands rides in the BOB and will even climb into the stroller in anticipation of her next adventure. When she was smaller, the stroller seemed to dwarf her, but that is no longer an issue. My only real complaint is the canopy, which is not designed to tilt forward to protect her from the late day sun while traveling west. Otherwise, I find this to be an excellent stroller and well worth the money.

great stroller, but...

Reviewer: Anonymous , Washington, DC Date: June 24, 2006
I don't know if there is any perfect stroller out there, but the BOB SUS works for me. My stroller hating son enjoys the smooth ride and comfy seat and I love the way it takes on rough city sidewalks and the easy push when running. What I don't love is the weight and fixed wheel for everyday use, the fact that it's still enormous even when folded, and the very limited storage in the back pocket and basket. In fact, the basket is largely inaccessible when my 25-pound son is seated. I also think the straps are a little goofy and difficult to adjust. I consider the cup holder console an essential accessory as well as the SkipHop bag for extra storage. Overall, I still really like it and it's the only stroller my son loves.

We love our BOB Sport Utility Stroller. We love everything about it, it works great outdoors for me, since we live in Arizona. I use it every time I take my daughter with me to Baby Boot Camp to work out, she loves the smooth ride and I enjoy pushing her around without breaking my back. My husband takes my daughter in the BOB for a run in the mornings and he says it's very easy to push the stroller while running. So, we enjoy our BOB and would recommend to everyone I know who has kids. We will be eventually getting the double BOB once we have our second child.

BOB vs. Dreamer Design

4
Reviewer: Anonymous , Seattle, WA Date: June 23, 2006
I purchased the BOB SUS for my 15 month-old daughter because she found the seat on our Dreamer Design Rebound uncomfortable, and I found the Dreamer too large and cumbersome for travel and storage. My daughter is far more content in the BOB. She enjoys sitting upright and also likes the stiff back on the BOB's seat. (The Dreamer's seat is more reclined, and on our 2004 model the back was flexible rather than stiff.) The off-road tires on the BOB render it a litte less easy to push than the Dreamer (which has street tires), but I find them perfectly acceptable for strolling the neighborhood and jogging on paved and unpaved paths. For me, the BOB's only negative feature is that the handlebar is too high for a woman of average height and it's not adjustable. As a result, leveraging the stroller into a turn or over a curb is noticably more difficult than with our Dreamer Design (which had an adjustable handlebar). Overall however, the BOB is fabulous -- it's comfortable for my child, provides excellent sun coverage (far better than the Dreamer), and is easy for me to fold, transport, and store. Serious runners though, might want to consider the Deluxe model because of its street tires. They're a little easier to push and probably maintain momentum better than the SUS's off-road variety.

Returned this right away!

2
Reviewer: Anonymous , St. Paul, MN Date: May 17, 2006
I did lots of research before buying the BOB SUS 2006 stroller, and so I thought that I would be very pleased when it arrived. But that wasn't the case. It was very easy to assemble, looks sporty and has a great canopy, but there are 2 big downfalls that were too significant to overlook. The most important one was the fact that the waist part of the 5-piece harness (the belt) doesn't adjust, so you can't make it any smaller. Even my 3 year-old didn't fit snugly in it! I am expecting another baby in September and wanted the stroller to be able to grow with him too, but if it doesn't even fit my 3 year-old, how long will it be before my baby can be in it without the carseat adaptor? I thought that this design flaw would have been worked out by this 2006 model, but it is not, and the belt of the harness is maybe small enough to fit a child older than a 5 year-old, but no one smaller!!!!!!! The other drawback was minor, but still irritating-the handlebar. The handlebar is covered with a black foam, which might be nice if you NEVER have to turn your stroller or if you are not a "serious runner" like I am, but I ended up with large blisters on my palms from the foam rubbing on my hands and I only went for a 3 mile run (very flat and few turns!) Overall, I was very disappointed, and wanted to voice this for others of you out there that are considering buying this stroller. For the money I have seen better harnesses in strollers 1/4 the price. I returned the BOB SUS right away and I am searching for a replacement!

Regarding the Waist Belt:

The waist belt part of the harness system itself, although it can be adjusted via the shoulder straps, is not supposed to be adjustable. It is merely a method to limit how far the child can slide to the side. This is an added safety measure that makes it much more difficult for the child to maneuver their way out of the harness. The belt is designed in such a way that it is not necessary for it to be snug around the childs waist. It's purpose is to keep the child more or less centered (left to right) in the stroller seat.

Regarding the Handlebar Foam:

Our handlebar foam is a balance between comfort and durability. If the foam is too soft, it's durability becomes a problem. If the foam is too hard, it is less comfortable. Our goal is to produce a product that is a good balance between the two. I can say that I've never heard of even one case of blisters from our foam handlebars.

fantastic on beach sand

Reviewer: Anonymous , Haleiwa Hawaii Date: May 05, 2006
I am very happy with this purchase - the jogger propels itself on the road, and rugged tires can handle the beach (in not too deep sand), folds easily, and with a little care, can fit in the trunk of my honda accord without removing the wheels. The only drawback is - my 6 mo old seems a little small for the seat and harness. The seat back has padding but the seat bottom is hammock style. In comparison to her Aprica conventional stroller (which is ergonomically designed) this seat seems less comfortable as a ride.

The Best By Far

This is Amazing - Im in the Uk and got this by chance from someone who went to the states and bought it back for me. WOW!!! Whilst i dont run/jog As a family ( 5 children) we do alot of terrain walking when the English weather allows. I had an Instep twin for my toddler and baby but now the toddler is a "big boy" - almost 4 he prefers to walk/run with his older siblings and this is amazing for my daughter shes now 22 months old & she has bags of room also if needed my 3.5 yr old could use and still have space - I cant praise it emough it even fits in the back of our MPV with all 7 of us in the car. Also from a Style point of veiw i know if i go out with my B.O.B im very unlikly to see another Mummy with one and im forever being asked by other people were they can get one

I love it and will use it till my daughter refuses to go in it

The only downside - i wish the seat had a little more padding, and although it says its suitable from approx 8 weeks im my honest opinion i wouldnt put a child under 12 months in it unless they were in an infant seat using the infant seat adaptor and of course being in the uk i find it hard getting accesories

My son LOVES this stroller! After buying a travel system before he was born that I ended up hating, I now REALLY research all of his purchases and rely on feedback like this (which is why I came back to write!). My son used to HATE taking walks, until we got this stroller. The first time we put him in it he fell asleep! I would definitely suggest the fleece insert for smaller babies...I feel like that really adds to his comfort, especially when he was really little (we got it when he was 4 months, and he is almost 8 months now). This is a quality stroller in every way and it looks great too...we always get compliments on it when we are walking/running. 5 stars...my husband, son and I all LOVE BOB!!!!!

Recalled item 11/98-3/00

Reviewer: Anonymous , Maryland Date: December 04, 2005
If you have an older BOB or are given one please go to the CPSC for more information as to why these strollers made from 11/98- 3/00 were recalled. Has to do with the front wheel connector, can crack.

Comments from JoggingStroller.com: It is true they had a voluntary recall on strollers iin 2000. It only affected a few thousand strollers, and a very large percentage have been retro-fitted. There may still be some floating around, for sale as used, or hand-me-downs. Here is our link on the BOB website that will explain exactly which strollers are concerned:

http://www.bobgear.com/support/reca ll.php

or

http://www.bobgear.com/support/reca llinfo.php

There were no injuries or accidents, and incidents were very rare, however being a new company to this market, and observing that this cracking could indeed ocurr in specfic conditions, it was not a forced recall. only voluntary on the part of BOB.

My husband and I run 5-7 miles a day and we go to at least one Cross Country meet a week and our BOB is perfect! We LOVE it! We actually had another stroller before this one and in comparison to the one we used to have this one pulls itself! It is awesome! We can run over grass or on the roads and either way our little girl (currently six months old) is so comfortable that she is able to sleep regardless of what we are doing! It is great! We love it!

Worth Every Penny!!

Reviewer: Patty , Newmarket, NH Date: October 31, 2005
I purchased the BOB Sport Utility stroller when my daugter was 4 months old (just turned 1yr!). I never write reviews of products bought on-line but I could not be happier with this stroller. I run about 4-5 times a week on average 5 miles each time. I have never had a problem with this stroller! I run on the beach, on the roads, on trails and I have never once had a problem. I run with other moms with all different types of jogging strollers and they will tell you that the BOB is the best! The frame is light weight but STURDY! There is back support for the baby, pockets on the inside to stash toys and sippies, there is plenty of room even for big kids (I once ran with a 40 lb. child with no problem), it is leight weight and doesn't pull. My daughter LOVES this stroller, whenever she is cranky or upset I know if all else fails I can put her in the stroller and go for a jog and she will be happy. I couldn't be happier with this stroller and highly recommend it to anyone who jogs and wants some freedom to exercise without compromising the comfort of their child.

BOB vs. Dreamer Design GST

5
Reviewer: Anonymous , Dallas, TX Date: September 30, 2005
Isnt this website great! I researched quite a bit and read lots of reviews on this site before purchasing. It came down to two: the BOB SUS and the Dreamer Design Rebound GST. I tried to go to a retail store and compare them side-by-side, but no luck - nobody stocked the DD GST (and I live in a relatively big city Dallas). So I did what any over-thinking person would do. I bought one of each! When I compared the two side-by-side, the winner for me was the BOB. I must say that the DD is probably a great stroller. Almost everything I did not like about the DD GST was related to its size - the thing is HUGE!! If you need/want a big stroller, the DD might work perfectly for you, but here is my situation: small baby (3 months old), I run from home on concrete, but also load up and hit my favorite running destination, which is asphalt (some new, some old and bumpy), and the wife will also be using it on her own. So, if your situation is different, you might have to re-assess based on my comments below. Here are the details: Canopy - the DD does have more versatile/functional canopy; however, it does not have much reinforcement and it does not hold its shape very well. It looks all wrinkled up. It is also not very smooth and clicks pretty loud when you are adjusting it. However, it does rotate all the way forward, which is awesome. Now, both of these complaints of mine may have solved themselves after some use, but not sure. The BOB canopys is 2nd in functionality only to the DD, but is better engineered. It is very smooth and just looks cleaner and neater. Even as good as the BOB canopy is, if your route and time of day have you running into a setting or rising sun on the horizon, the DD canopy is going to be the only one that works for you, wrinkled up and all. Suspension - the BOB suspension is super-plush and handles the normal bumps in the road great. The design of the DD suspension is quite a bit different which causes it to be much stiffer. Its designed to allow the wheels to give backwards more than up and down. Perhaps this is for bigger kids and bigger potholes and bumps (that you should probably avoid anyway). I agree with another reviwer - if you end up going with the DD, you could save the money and go with the model below (no 20

I LOVE this stroller. We ordered the infant seat adaptor so that we could use it right away (I had the baby out in it in the first week) and it is so great. He loves to go for walks and it gets me out of the house when I'm feeling cooped up without having to take the baby too far from home (he's only three weeks). It rides so smoothly that I can use my CD player without it skipping. I would highly recomend this stroller to anyone who loves to be outdoors. Just remember that unless you have an SUV to load it into, it is a bit large but its relatively light and easy enough to load into the back of an SUV.

The envy of every baby

Reviewer: Satisfied in Savoy , Savoy, IL Date: September 30, 2005
The BOB Sport Utility Stroller is one of the best baby purchases we've made to date. Not only is it totally cool to look at but it rolls like a dream. Give it a little push and I swear it'll just keep rolling forever. Our 7-month old just loves going for walks in her BOB and fits wonderfully in the harness. We got the extra drink holder/utility bar and that is also worth the price. Okay, the gist of the stroller: cool looking, very easy to assemble, folds with ease, great 5-point harness with nice cushioning for baby's neck and shoulders, and the shocks give an unbelievably smooth ride even on the dirt trails we've hiked. If you're planning on doing more than just walking on your neighborhood sidewalks (although it's great for that too), then this BOB is well worth the price.

Did my homework on jogging strollers and ended up getting the SUS Deluxe, I love it and so does my son! He was a preemie starting at only 2lbs but now at 5 months he weighs 8.5lbs and just loves going for a run with me, I did have to modify the seat a bit in order to accomodate his small body, I put a air pillow at the base of the seat then put a kiddopotamus snuzzler in the seat for total body support. My son loves it and always takes a nap during our run. We live on the beach on Maui so being able to take it on the sand was important to me, I've tried it a couple of times and it does the job, a bit sluggish but still able to run on the sand. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star is that I wish the handle bar was adjustable, I'm 5'1

Overall I am pretty pleased with my purchase of the SUS. I go on dirt trails and sand and some rocks when I take our dog walking. The SUS seems to roll right over any terrain. I did think that the shocks would take more of the bumpiness out of the ride, maybe they just need to be broken in. My baby seems comfy, she is 6 months,, however, I am certainly glad I purchased the snuzzler, otherwise it might not be so comfy. I am disappointed in the sun shade. We live in San Diego, and wish this had a ratcheting sunshade.. her legs get quite a bit of sun, and when the sun is lower, it doesn't provide shade for her face... I did purchase the sunshade netting accessory and that works well for providing more shade on her legs and face. I feel that it is pretty easy to fold up, but am disappointed with the

This stroller will go anywhere our sheep can go. The shocks allow us to take it through our pastures. My son bumps along and many times will nap over the rough terrain. It has also been great at livestock shows and sales. I'am so pleased with how this stroller has held up. We have had it for a year and used it everyday sometimes several hours a day and it still works beautifully. I have found it hard to fold sometimes, but we rarley fold it and it stays outside where there is lots of dirt and dust. It also gets covered in mud and manure quite offen but it hoses of well and the fabric is holding up great. I have a small car and the wheels come off easily so it fits in my trunk. I also have used the stroller in the airport. It is sturdy enough to throw a large car seat on top and wheel it around. This stroller is worth every penny. I bought the snuzler for it (It was OK) but I found I prefer a regular sheep skin I just cut holes in where the seat straps need to come through.

Great Stroller!

Reviewer: Anonymous , Puyallup, WA Date: September 30, 2005
I received my SUS last week along with the infant seat adapter. It was very easy to put together. All that needed to be put onto the stroller were the 3 wheels. It took about 10 minutes, max. The infant seat adapter took a little more time which was fine with me since it supports the weight of my 7 week old and seat! It is VERY sturdy and my baby has fallen asleep on my runs so far!! There is plenty of storage room. I have taken keys, phone, blanket, water and a jacket so far with room to spare. The brake works well and the parking brake (as silly as this is) is very easy to set. All you do is push a botton right on the brake handle and it's set! This has been great for quick shoe tying, checking on your child, or covering for a sudden rainfall. The only drawback is that accessories, such as a weather cover (absolute necessity here in NW Washington) and console, do not come standard. They must be purchased separately. I would highly recommend this stroller to anyone!

Very pleased with joggingstroller.com and the BOB

5
Reviewer: Anonymous , St Louis, MO Date: September 30, 2005
Although I have not yet gone jogging with my BOB, I wanted to enter a prelimanary review. First of all, I have been very pleased with joggingstroller.com. I ordered my BOB on a Sunday evening and it arrived on Wednesday. My husband oferred to put it togther for me but since I am going to be the one using it, I decided I should be the one to really understand the stroller and its assembly. I am not at all handy!!! My husband was convinced that I would give up on the task of getting it put together but I triumphed! The directions were great. I also ordered the handlebar console as well as the infant seat adapter...all which I put together by myself. It was a bit tedious and took about an hour total - but if I can do it anyone can. The tracking was a little off but the new fine tune tracking worked beautifully. I have taken it on a walk and was very impressed. I can't wait to get it out there for a run! The sun canopy provides as little or as much coverage as you need. A very important feature for me. I do not want my baby to end up with sunburn! I did alot of research before purchasing the BOB (I've been reading about strollers for months) and the BOB seems to have the best canopy. The quickness in which the stroller folds was also imprtant to me as I will be putting it in the car almost daily. The BOB takes all of 2 seconds to fold up. It couldn't be easier! The BOB fits in my small SUV without removing the tires, but if you need to remove them, they are easily removed in no time. I am particulary fond of the BMX style polymer wheels; since I am going to be taking it in and out of the car frequently, I didn't want to have to worry about bending spokes. The child safety harness is very easy to use and adjust. I highly recommend the infant seat adapter if you have an infant. I am able to move my infant seat from my car to the stroller without waking my sleeping baby! A great purchase and well worth the money.

I can not say enough good things about this stroller and my experience with joggingstroller.com. I think the stroller is of the best quality for my 6 month old and is by far the best stroller I have come across in my search. Joggingstroller.com was an even better experience; the shipping was lightning fast (I got the stroller in 2 days), free in my case, and I was more than impressed with the business end of the transaction. The site adequately described this phenomenal stroller and was in contact with me via e-mail during my entire ordering and shipping process. A five star rating does not do this experience nor the stroller justice.

AWSOME

5
Reviewer: Anonymous , Shawnee National Forest Date: September 30, 2005
AWSOME is the one word that comes to mind when describing the downright durability of this stroller! My family took a cross country trip this year and we used the BOB every day. Being 8 months pregnant at the time, I had no problems negotiating Yellowstone trails. Picture rugged, washed out single track ascending 3000 feet, a large 18 month old in the BOB and a heavily pregnant mom having the time of her life. Hilly gravel roads were, likewise, not a problem. Sheer downhills were easily controlled with the braking system. This rugged stroller really does it for those of us who spurn the beaten path. Parents, put on your trail runners or pull on your hiking boots....this stroller is ready to go! And by the way, it does a really decent job on the road, too.

Wonderful dirt road stroller! No complaints at all!

Reviewer: Anonymous , New River, AZ Date: September 30, 2005
After researching many strollers and reviews online, I chose the BOB. And I have never regretted it for a moment! I live in a rural AZ area and have a very steep dirt road inclined driveway, and most of the activities that we do are dirt-y. We do not jog, instead we hike! I was concerned about the durability and weight of the stroller. The BOB is wonderful! It is very easy to push over any terrain and very easy to fold up. The basket is nice and big too! I would recommend this stroller to anyone who lives in a rural area or hikes. Especially over rough terrain.

I just sold my Baby Jogger II and bought the Bob. By comparison there are many features I love about the BOB, like the large canopy and storage baskets, shocks and wide seat. However, my one complaint is that it is heavy and difficult to steer especially when comparing it to the ultra light weight Baby Jogger II. If I hadn't sold my Baby Jogger II, I might have returned the Bob.

Reviewer: Greg Verbosky , Coto De Caza, CA Date: September 30, 2005
We looked at all the jogging stollers but since we live in the canyons we wanted something that could go on the trails. The BOB rocks. My wife and our son love it. It has changed our whole attitude for going on walks. This thing is built like a high end mountain bike. It is pretty impressive just to look at. The neighbors were all kind of stunned by this monster when we came by but the great thing is that it folds up easy and fits in our cars. We are now going for walks twice a day because the stroller is just so easy to push and manuever. The sun shade is by far one of the best and the storage and pockets are excellent. Even on hot days the ventilation is excellent. We also put cold bottles of water in the up front pockets with our son to keep him cool. In addition the tether is a great feature in case you fall down. We just ordered the fleece insert but our son is fine with out it.. But why not...

The BOB SU is an exceptional jogging stroller!

4
Reviewer: Anonymous , Georgia Date: September 30, 2005
We purchased the BOB SU stroller in April 02 and have been well pleased with our decision. We researched on the net and physically inspected several strollers and there is truly no comparison. We live on 30 acres of country terrrain so it was important to have a durable product. This stroller meets or exceeds the durability test. It has performed wonderfully whether on rough ground or rolling across rocky streams. The absorbent shocks definitely make a better ride for baby. We've even taken it to the beach and were stopped by parents who commented on its ability to roll across the sand (some who had regular or joggers that couldn't compete). You do need to buy the warm & fuzzy accessory. The ride is a bit uncomfortable for baby without it. The only negative is that the sun canopy isn't large enough and doesn't stay open over bumps; however, this has apparently been corrected on the recent model. You can't go wrong with the BOB SU Stroller. It's well worth the investment.

You won't find a better jogger

5
Reviewer: BOB SUV fan , Virginia Date: September 30, 2005
Normally I wouldn't take the time to write a review but I feel compelled to write one for the BOB SUV jogger. I used many reviews on many sites over the course of a month to make my final decision so I would like to share my experience. I learned a long time ago that you do pay for the best but to compromise at all will cost you a lot more. The BOB has been no exception to this rule. My criteria in order of importance were: safety, durability and functionality. They could not have added another safety feature to this jogger...case closed...it's safe. From the welded construction to the mag wheels (Ever notice how everyone else's jogger has rusted wheels?) this thing is a tank that I imagine will be around for all our future children. The lady that complained in an earlier review about the fender rubbing.....hasn't tried to adjust it very hard. I put this thing together in 10 minutes and haven't had a problem yet. With the reclining feature and the infant insert we were able to take our 2 week old out to enjoy some early Spring weather in comfort and style. I do wish they had other color options.

I'm no expert with jogging strollers, but I do know a thing or two about design and construction. Being a mechanical engineer, I can truly say I was impressed with the build quality of this stroller. The frame is welded together instead of some cheap slip fit tube construction. The suspension swingarm reminds me of a mountain bike or motorcycle. Simply put, it's well built and folds in a snap. Well thought out and robust, but at the same time light weight. I haven't jogged with it yet though, but I'm sure it will be fine.

A bit Disappointed

3
Reviewer: Anonymous , North Carolina Date: September 30, 2005
I guess I'm the only one to write a review that does not love this stroller. While it is a very good choice for the off-road runner, I have been very disappointed otherwise. The front fender constantly scrapes the tire no matter how it is adjusted. It is VERY cumbersome to fold, and our canopy is horrible. For the money, I expected a lot more. I've contacted the BOB company several times with no response. It was a gift, fortunately, because I'm now shopping for a different jogger.
