Reviews for BOB Ironman stroller
Very pleased with '05 Ironman

We finally decided to purchase the BOB Ironman, and found a good deal on the '05 model at joggingstroller.com. We chose the Ironman due to it's light weight and good construction, plus BOB's customer service promptly returned my calls and answered my questions (when I was still deciding which stroller to get).
Our 6.5 month-old daughter doesn't protest, especially when I'm running (vs. walking). Important factors were ease of folding and tracking adjustment (to make sure the stroller rolls in a straight line). Several other strollers were taken off the consideration list if tracking-correction wasn't available.
The canopy is great for sun coverage when fully deployed; however, the sun/bug screen accessory only works with the canopy at 50% (slight negative). Another minor negative is I find the shoulder harness adjusters are right at my daughter's head; she doesn't seem to complain, but I haven't figured out where else to position them (minor negative).
Overall, very pleased with the design and on-road performance of this jogger.

Choose Babyjogger instead

We bought our first running stroller twelve years ago when our first child was born. It was a single Babyjogger... logically, since these were the only ones on the market at that time. We used that stroller for two years until our second child was born, at which point we bought the double Babyjogger. I can't even describe how wonderful both of these strollers were... no squeaks, no problems whatsoever. I am a 20-30 mile-per-week runner, and I always took/take my children with me. Basically, I can't even imagine how many miles each of these strollers logged during their eleven years of use. First my son, then my daughter, then another son rode contentedly in either the single or double for many, many years, and I never encountered a single problem. Last June, I learned I was pregnant with child #4 and considered just polishing up "Old Faithful" and using our standard single Babyjogger with our new baby. Instead, though, we opted for something newer, figuring that the new models (competitors) had probably out-smarted Babyjogger with a host of reliable bells and whistles. Consequently, after much research, mind you, we purchased the single Ironman BOB stroller. Our fourth child is now 3 and a half months old and has been riding in this jogger since he was eight weeks. In that short timeframe, I have experienced a series of problems that I never came across in my eleven years of using Babyjogger. For instance, the fabric is beginning to tear, the wheels squeak when you put mild pressure on the handlebar, and it is much more difficult to align the tires. Overall, I am mad at myself for abandoning a company I knew to be outstanding. Give serious thought to Babyjogger b/f proceeding with a BOB purchase.

I have run several marathons and after having my baby we are again in training mode. This stroller is wonderful. I have already logged several hundered miles on it and I just got it 3 months ago. It glides easily, it is easy to store and put in my car. The sun shade is the best that I have seen and most importantly my baby loves it too!

great for what it's made for...

The BOB Ironman is a great stroller, but I wish I had put a little more thought and research in before purchasing it. It has a fixed front wheel that makes it rally hard to push around turns, and isn't really made for any kind of off-roading. It is often close to tipping over on my long, rural, pot-holey driveway, and my arms get really fatigued from having to work so hard to get it around the curvy walking-paths I'm often on. But all of that is entirely my fault, I should have been looking for an altogether different kind of stroller. So I still give this stroller very high marks for being so solid and easy to fold and especially for the wonderful way our Graco carseat sits in it (using the proper attachment
of course). To sum up: A great product, just wrong for me.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT !!!!!!

We did a lot of research before buying and were very pleased that we loved BOB in person as much as we did when we reviewed it. My husband and I actually argue over who gets to push! No joke. No post-purchase cognitive dissonance here! The stroller was extremely quick and easy to assemble upon arrival We quickly figured out how to fold/unfold it. And it's so very, very light! It fits in the trunk of my car no problem if I take off one wheel. The quick release makes it a breeze. Running the steep TN uphills is no problem since the stroller is so light. On flat ground the extra weight isn't even noticable since it rolls so easily. This is a stroller that wants to go-go-go. It's like butter, baby! And the sun canopy is AWESOME! Such a generous shade and it looks sporty, too. Plus the bright yellow is very visible. It's not like we run in the street, but it's nice to be so bright when crossing. Downside on the color, yellow jackets seem to love it. Not a problem when running, but a pain when loading/unloading. Nothing like trying to get a baby out of a 5-point harness with yellow jackets dive bombing the stroller. Note to self: park far away from yellow jacket hangouts like trash cans and concession stands. The harness system was a little frustrating to adjust. Our 6 month old seemed to be laying on the adjustment thingys up at his shoulders. He pitched a serious fit. But, once we folded a dish towel and covered them, the fussing stopped. The ride must be comfy because he hasn't cried on me once. The most we've attempted with him so far is 8 miles. No fussing yet. Once he was even 30 min late eating. Still, no complaints. He loves it! Buy the handlebar console attachment when you buy the stroller. We didn't even think to do it and regretted that one week without it. The water bottle pockets are deep and secure. The zippered compartment is perfect size for cell phone and keys. My only complaint is that the weather sheild is for 65 degrees and under. Makes sense, but we didn't realize that at time of purchase. I won't be complaining in the winter since it will keep our love bug very snug, but it would be nice to have a lighter, less heavy duty rain sheild for summertime use and emergency pop-up showers. Both the rain shield and sun shield are made of super heavy duty materials and well worth the money. We've had lots of people come up to us wanting to check the stroller out. They all agreed it was well worth the $$. We do too!

Get It While It's on Sale!

I just ordered this stroller and it is so easy to push!!! My daughter is 5 months old and it rides so smoothly that she falls asleep everytime I use it! I live in Illinois so it is still chilly here and I use the bundleMe (sold seperately) for warmth. It fits great with the stroller. I love the sun canopy because it really provides great protection. This stroller was extremely simple to put together!!! I would recommend it to anyone. I got the great sale price that is being offered! Order it Now!
Comments from JoggingStroller.com:
Just to note, we hardly ever hold a sale, I mean its really rare. Sometimes, right before an updated model comes out, like the 2006 in this case, we get rid of stock that is now outdated. But that doesn't always happen, and definately doesn't happen with every model or color, nor when you need it most, like this one happened in January. That being said, if you're reading this and they're still available... it is a great deal. Always be sure to check what changes were made and weigh out if the savings are worth more than the new features to you.

City and Country

I too did ALOT of research before deciding to purchase this jogging stroller and found this stroller met the requirements that I wanted. It has several things that make it worth the price for instance the high weight limit (it will allow me to use it several years as my son grows), it is very well built, it fits into the trunk of a mid sized car without having to take it apart, I like the high visibility yellow, it truly goes over very rough terrain. I jog on a gravel track that is not very well kept up (big gravel, little gravel, pot holes just over all rough terrain) and this stroller has no problems and does not overly jar my son. I also like that it offers a slight recline. The other thing is I often take it to Washington DC where the side walks are horrible in certain areas and this stroller handles the uneven sidewalks with ease, plus I have to take it up and down stairs and it handles stairs with no problem thanks to the large wheels. The only thing I dislike about using it in the city or store is the front wheel does not swivel (this is because it would make it tough to jog on rough terrain if the front wheel swiveled) so I understand why and know this is NOT something BOB overlooked when engineering. I would recommend this stroller to anyone looking for a jogging stroller that will handle all terrains because the ease at which it glides on any terrain and over large bumps puts it in a league of its own (and no I don't work for BOB) just very thankful for this great stroller.

Best decision ever!

I researched jogging strollers for a year before taking the plunge on the BOB Ironman. I have been running with my one-year-old daughter for 6 mos now with the Bob and have loved it. Here are the 4 main things why the Bob was the best decision for us:
1. The overall weight of the stroller. Initially, we were undecided between the Ironman and the Dreamer Design. I am so glad we chose the Bob since it is significantly lighter weight than the D.D. Pushing a toddler in any stroller while running gives a new meaning to
